My First Basketball Game!

Okay, so no, I haven't seen a basketball game at all, until yesterday night....  I've been to one football game and that was because I was working concessions...and also...I only saw the tail end...where we did actually win!
But, anyway, I was at the basketball game last night, because I have been promoted to Select Singers (elite singing group at my school), because they needed more altos, so I'm singing alto.  I usually sing soprano, but I enjoy singing alto in church...so...not too different.  Oh and the reason why four Select Singers (counting myself), were there, was because we were singing the national anthem.  We sang accapella and I have heard lovely compliments about us.
So, about the game, I sat on the enemy bleacher side, because Dakota (I may have mentioned a Dakota previously, but not this Dakota.  This Dakota is a girl, and...not the other Dakota....) was filming it for the live stream and the only other person she had up there with her was the vice principal, who was acting as the announcer.  And he really does have a very good announcer voice!  I was impressed.
I feel like we annoyed a few people, because we were cheering with the student section from the other side of the gym, but hey, we gotta show our school spirit!  And hey, I've decided to share some things I learned during my first basketball game!

  1. People get way too involved...like...they think that everyone is the rep sometimes!
  2. Things that look like they should be legal...aren't....
  3. And things that look like they shouldn't be allowed...are?!
  4. There is a lot more falling down than I anticipated.
  5. It seems to be more of a contact sport than it's made out to be.
  6. Those umpires have got to be in fantastic shape, because they're running all over the court, keeping up with the action and the players and they NEVER SEEM TO GET WINDED.
  7. It has got to take a lot of dedication to be a coach....
  8. Each player only gets five fouls.
  9. It is hard for me to tell what a foul is....
So yeah...basketball....

I Need to Get a Job....

Okay...I really need a job.  Why?  I'm 18 and unemployed.  This is not okay.  I mean, for some, maybe.  After all, I'm still living with my parents, unwed, unpregnant, not a mother, still attending high school...but also, at the same time...I am independent...this lack of a job is hampering my independent-ness!
I tend to like making lists...we've discovered this.  I also seem to like making pro vs. con lists...so...that's what I'll be doing...the pros and cons of having a job....

Pros

  1. Well, first of all, the most obvious MONEY.  You get money that you don't have to worry about paying back to a bank or a family member.  It is yours.
  2. You get experiences you couldn't get any other way.
  3. You are given a sense of accomplishment.
  4. You have someone to be accountable to...which I suppose to some people it could be a con....
  5. You have more structure and your days aren't filled with free time that you have no idea what to do with.
Cons
  1. You lose a lot of free time.
  2. You have to go to work and may not always get days off; if your family wants to go on a spontaneous trip, they may have to go without you.
  3. Less time with your family.
  4. The wrong boss or co-workers could be detrimental to you and possibly those you care for.
  5. You have less time to take care of your mental, emotional and physical health.
And there you have it...some of the pros and cons I've thought of to having a job.  Speaking of which, I'm planning to check for a job at a nursing home in my town...wish me luck!

My Evening

My evening was well spent.  I went to a party at my Wednesday night church, with the youth group and we ate food (MAN WAS IT GOOD!!!) and played a few...interesting...games, including a game of Sit-down-in-a-circle-on-chairs Keep Away!  We also did some painting.

The boys did this one.  They did all the graffiti-ish stuff, but the word "Jesus" was already painted, but the brown around, one of the boys did.  Other than that, they did the "graffiti" stuff.  There were...four boys working I think.  Maybe five.  I think there were five.  A, K, R, C, C...five.  There were five boys working on it.

We girls were working on this one.  It's still not done.  We have a lot more detail than the boys though, because they were basically given free range to do whatever they wanted, we have more lines to follow.  I did all of the green, part of the blue and purple, and some of the rusty orange part.  There were two other girls working on it with me, and I must say, we did a fantastic job!

Then I came home and did this on my Facebook:
I seem to have a very eclectic taste in music. Here's metal, and goofy music, along with theme music, rock, possibly pop, country...so.... That's a thing. I won't tag anyone, just do it if you want.
1. Put your music player on shuffle
2. For each question press the next song
3. You must write the name down even though it sounds silly
4. Tag 20 friends
5. Everyone tagged has to do the same thing
6. Have fun!!

The Thankful List

Yeah, I've been meaning to do this for a few days.  It is, as it states, a thankful list!  Which will of course...list things I am...wait for it...thankful for!

  1. I am thankful for League of Legends.  Yeah, it seems stupid and cheesy, but I have actually met some of my best friends there and it's also a place where I can go and "hang out" with my friends who live far away.
  2. Obviously, my family.  I had a blast with them yesterday when we celebrated our family Thanksgiving.  My uncle can go from lying flat on his stomach, then going to a standing position, with my cousin and I on his back, our weights totaling over 280 pounds.
  3. My friends.  Definitely these people.  They give me hugs, they give me love, company, support.  I'm even going with a friend today to see a movie, unless the weather gets too bad.
  4. Music.  I honestly don't know that I would still be here without music.
  5. Art.  What did I put for music?  That applies here as well.  In fact, in English, the teacher had a journal prompt, asking if we thought that FHS should cut out the music and art programs to offer the more "schoolbooky" type classes at an advanced level.  I bet you can't guess what I said!  Maybe someday I'll share it.
  6. I am thankful that I got the solo I wanted for the Christmas Pageant!  It's a beautiful solo.  My one problem with it is that it's called "Shepherds", but practically tells the story of the wise men...just a slight issue....
  7. I am thankful for my not one, not two, but three home churches.  I have a Sunday morning church, that does not have church at night, so we go to my grandparents' church, not only to spend time with them, but to go to night church there, then of course, my church that I go to on Wednesday nights.  I've just recently started going, but so far, I enjoy it.
  8. I am thankful that even though I'm 18, I don't have to learn how to adult alone.  I have my mom, my stepdad, my friends, my family to help me.
  9. I'm thankful for my school and the way so many people have practically adopted me and have kept an eye on me to make sure I adjusted well.  I'm thankful for the clubs I am a part of, like FCA...mostly FCA....  I'm thankful for all the good teachers and students.
  10. I am thankful for my freedom of speech.  I'm glad I can type whatever I want on this blog.  I can cuss FHS out, I can cuss IBS out, I can cuss Obama out and I have that right.  Of course, I'm not going to cuss anyone out, but I could.  I could also elope, as I have told many people, but I don't plan on doing it for awhile.
  11. I'm thankful for how easy it is to publish nowadays!  I can write the stories that flow through my mind in colorful pictures and share them globally...and I'm glad for that.
  12. I am thankful for God's goodness and grace, because without them, I would not be here!  And I'm thankful that he knows what's best.  And the thing is, sometimes he lets you go through what seems like misery...and very well might be...so that he can give you something.  Like...people in my life that have made me miserable...because of one of them in particular, I have met friends that I will never let go.
I have so much to be thankful for and that's not everything I'm thankful for, it's just everything that's popped into my head as I was typing.  And the best part?  We don't have to wait for it to be Thanksgiving to be thankful!  We can be thankful on Christmas, and Halloween, and our birthdays, and Valentine's Day!  And you know, any other random day or holiday in the year.

Teachers

We have all learned something from someone.  Be this your parents, cousins, uncles, other relatives, the man down the street whose name you just can't quite remember, or even the nice cashier who waited patiently for you to frantically search your pockets for the money that you can't find because of those evil little elves that are constantly hiding your money at the very bottom of your pockets, underneath your phone, keys, and fingernail clippers.  Of course, the most "traditional" way to learn, is from teachers.  Ya know, those people that are hired by a school, the people you usually have to sit in a stupid, not super comfy desk to listen to them drone on and on and on about a topic you care nothing about.  Take me with math...yeah, I hate that subject.  But I've learned a lot from teachers (more from my mom and reading, but teachers too of course).

  1. On the keyboard ALT+the tab key lets you switch windows without ever once taking your hands off the keyboard.  This is wonderful knowledge if you're like me.
  2. You know when you're reading your Bible and you see some words in italics?  Yeah, those words weren't originally there, they were just added to try to make a bit more sense and put in italics so people would know they weren't originally in the text.  Like, okay, take the Bible verse Isaiah 45:18.  If you take the italizised words out, it changes the entire verse. "For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else."  Okay, read that the way it is.  It seems to be saying God made the earth then it completely changes apparently he is the LORD and there is none else, although that has nothing to do with him making the earth.  Take out the italic words.  "For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I the LORD; and none else."  Now it appears the verse is saying that God made the earth, just him, no one else.  Neat, yes?  Now take a totally random Bible verse.  Isaiah  46:12 "Hearken unto me,ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:"  Take out the italic word and it just seems weird.
  3. The exterior angle is equal to the two far interior angles...I wanted to be able to say I learned something from the math teacher.
  4. There was a difference between the Pharisees and Sadducees....I honestly did not know that.
  5. You can actually sing loud enough to fill an entire room, without a mic, if you actually project enough.  I never said I was good at that.
  6. People can "like" other people out of pity.
  7. If you have a new enough version of Microsoft Word, you can put citations and stuff in your document with just a few simple clicks.
  8. Don't assume there have to be a few falses in every true and false test.  Sometimes there will be all trues.
  9. A person can be a good person...but a not so great teacher.
  10. Illegal immigration isn't just in the U.S.A.
  11. There is in fact a website where you can listen to tons of Adventures in Odyssey for FREE.
I'm tired, goodnight.

Things I Have Learned Through Relationships

Okay, so, just so y'all know, this is going to be more for girls, and obviously from a girls point of view.  This is my list of things that I have learned through my relationships and unrelationships.  Yes, I just said unrelationships.  No, you don't have to read it all.  You don't have to read it at all!  If you're a guy who wants to read this, go for it though.  It is now going to be in list form.

  1. Every person who says, "I love you," doesn't always love you.
  2. Sometimes, when you're a girl going through guy problems, it helps to get a guy's perspective from the male humans around you.
  3. Sometimes you need to backpedal and that's okay.
  4. Guys really don't get hints.  If you want him to put his arm around you, tell him, because he won't get it otherwise.
  5. When in doubt, just be friends.
  6. Guys can be very manipulative.
  7. Words from a guy, who I talked to just today: Don't trust guys.  Words from me: It's okay to trust guys...just not their hormones.  Him:  Yeah, basically.
  8. Okay, so, if a guy back pedals, he is going to his little man cave, and you SHOULD NOT follow him there.  He'll come back out when he's ready.  If you just chase him, you will drive him away and look very needy and stuff like that.  I learned that from a guy.
  9. If you two had a fight and he made you cry, there's really no reason to tell him that he made you cry, unless he asks, because telling him will just make him feel like crap.
  10. Make boundaries AND STICK WITH THEM.  If you don't stick with your boundaries, this is how your relationship will go: "No kisses, at all, just hugs." "Okay, fine, we can kiss, but only on the cheek." "Alright, fine we can kiss on the lips, but we won't makeout.  We'll just kiss hello and goodbye." "Okay, fine we might as well makeout, but we won't get too handsy."  "Alright, being super handsy is pretty fun, so we can do that, we just have to stop if we start getting too turned on."  "Okay, we can get turned on, just as long as we don't, you know, have sex, because we aren't married."  "Well, we can have sex, just as long as we use protection"  "Oops...I'd better tell my boyfriend that I'm pregnant."  Now I'm not saying that that's how it will always go, but it will most often go that direction.  Not good.  Not good at all.  Plus, you will lose the respect of people around you, because it's like when you start exercising, but then you don't stick to it...rather stupid.  Try something like, "Okay, we aren't going to kiss at all until we've been dating a month, then we'll only kiss on the cheek."  "Well, our month is over, so we can kiss on the cheek, and in three more months, we can kiss each other hello and goodbye."  "That three months is over, so we can kiss each other hello and goodbye," and it would just continue like that.  Yes, that was the longest thing I have written on here and probably one of the most important things that I have learned through my relationships and unrelationships.
  11. I once heard that in a dating relationship you should only go as far with each other as you would feel comfortable going in front of your parents.  For some people, it's different than others.  Some parents just wouldn't care if their kids made out in front of them.  Some parents don't even want their kid in a dating relationship.  I know it sounds extreme, and it doesn't really work if you're married, but it gives you an idea.
  12. Remember:  There are two reasons to be in a relationship--to get married or to break up.  If your reason is to break up, you're not ready to be in a relationship.
  13. Talk to God about the whole thing and follow what he says.  WAY easier said than done.  If it was easy to do, I wouldn't have four ex-boyfriends.
  14. If you can't be yourself around them, you don't need to be in a relationship with them.
  15. Ask your friends for advice, and take this advice.
  16. Learn from your mistakes and other people's mistakes.
  17. I had another one, but I can't remember it :/
Well, that's stuff.

Pros and Cons between Journals and Blogs

Once, a long long time ago, I did a thing about the Pros and Cons with Homeschooling and Brick and Mortar Schooling.
Well, I've decided to make something similar for Journals and Blogs!  Yay!  Let's get to it!
Journal
Pros:
  1. You can put all your dark secrets in there.  Secrets you don't want people to know.
  2. You don't have to worry about making your writing legible for everyone else.
  3. You write for you and you alone.  No worries about any mispellings or grammar errors.  It's just for you.
 Cons:
  1. If anyone gets a hold of your journal and you do have secrets in it...well...you're dead meat.
  2. You only have so much room.  Both in the journal and room to put all the journals you're going to be filling up.
  3. Journals cost money and a lot of the time, unless you use plain notebooks, it takes more money than most people want to spend :/
Blog
Pros:
  1. You get to show pictures, thoughts and ideas to the WORLD with just the time it takes to type up stuff and click the publish button.
  2. For many people, it's faster and neater to type, rather than to write, so even if you were showing your journal to others, they would be sure to know what you had written, instead of trying to decipher  your bad handwriting.  No, I'm not talking about anyone in particular, it's just that some people have bad handwriting and I think I'll leave this point now....
  3. You don't need a light on to write on the blog, because you write on the blog on a computer or other lighted device.
Cons:
  1. Once it's out there...it's out there.  No getting it back.  You didn't want anyone to know about it?  Well, it's too late now.
  2. You have to have internet connection.
  3. You have to have a computer or other electronic device in order to make a blog post.
Well, there ya have it.  I keep both.  A journal and a blog.  See, the thing with a journal is that it deals with things on a much more personal level, whereas if I feel the need to make a point on something or rant, I come to my blog.  If I have to get some "guy stuff" off my brain...guess where it goes...my journal.  If I am super excited about something epic, I might post it on here AND write about it in my journal.  If it's something about a book I'm gonna start writing, I'll write it in/on both!  You see how this works?
Yes?  Oh?  Well...I gotta go.  Katie has WORK in the morning.  Well, not morning.  Not 'til 1:30...but Katie has other things she'll be doing in the way too early hours of morning....  Grr.  Well, again, I gotta go.  Bye.

Tips For Writers, From a Writer

Okay, so I know I don't know everything, and you may or may not enjoy this...but I'm going to give you a list or two of things that could help you out with your writing, so you can write in a way that you'll enjoy writing...but also make sure others enjoy it.
  • Write about something you're inspired to write about.  Unless it's for a class, and you're required to write something you don't really care about, write about something that inspires you.  Write about something that just BOOM pops into your mind.  It will mean a lot more to you, and you'll be more likely to write more often, and enjoy writing it.
  • Write in a way that would make it interesting for you to read.  If you enjoy reading it, it's likely that others will as well.
  • Talk about your ideas with friends, and family, and fellow authors.  Friends have the wonderful ability to completely encourage you, (or if they're Gavyn, build you up while tearing you down) and family knows your strengths and weaknesses, they can help you with that.  And with the fellow authors, they can help you think about it critically.  People have a hard time thinking about their own work critically....
  • Go through the story twice.  Once when you write it the first time, while your creative juices are flowing, and once again when you're done, to catch errors, and fix plot gaps.  Then turn it over to either a professional editor, or a friend you know is infamous for correcting other people's grammar and punctuation, and reading lots of books.  They'll know what you need to fix and things like that.
  • Don't beat yourself up too much when you realize how many mistakes you've made, after all, we all make them.
  • And most of all...have fun.

Y'all Get a Double Whammy

I'm sorry, but y'all just get to have a double post today.  And yes, I did just say y'all.  Sometimes I wonder if I'd be a good hippie.
So, back on the exercising thingy-ma-bobber. (yes, I do like that word)  I don't understand how people who do yoga can hold such crazy poses.  I'm gonna try it.  Yoga is a less breath robbing form of exercise, so I think I'm going to alternate my breath robbers with my less breath robbing, and yoga exercises.  I think Yoga (while it can be harder) is a less breath robbing exercise because it is slow, and precise.  A lot of other exercises are fast, and repetitive.  While yoga can be repetitive, it's also...oh I don't know.   Why don't you try yoga, and "normal" exercising, and tell me which is easier for you, and why, and which one is a less breath robbing thing.
I wanted to share with you some things I've noticed since I started on my exercise craze.

  • I'm more confident.
  • I'm more interested in eating healthy, although I still like junk food, because junk food is awesome.
  • I want to learn more exercises.
  • I care more about if I'm sitting straight.
  • I keep checking my tummy to see if it's less "fluffy," because I don't agree with Gavyn that girls are supposed to have fluff.
  • I'm spending more time on youtube...looking up exercises...and looking for stuff to watch/listen to while exercising.
  • I want to challenge myself more.  Then again, I already did that...just not with exercises.
  • I've decided I want heavier dumbells for my birthday, as well as a bunch of legos, a better camera, and an apple computer.  But I'll be content with one of whatever, or even random stuff, so don't think you have to get me whatever.
  • I think I sleep better, but I'm not sure, because I didn't sleep well last night...then again, it was really cold last night, and the cold and I do not get along well at all.
  • Yeah that's about it.
  • But I like bullets so I'm gonna keep typing for a little bit.
  • Never mind, I'm done.
Isn't that crazy and awesome, and all kinds of things?  I thought so too.
By the way, I have a ton of exercises for the core, but not quite as many for the arms, very few for the thighs, and lower legs, and only one for the butt.  If anyone knows of any good exercises for those areas, I will gladly accept them.
On the bright side though...I know for sure I can count at least to twenty for repetitions :p
Wow, it's really noisy in a room next to the library....okay, I'm done now.

Camp, School, and Randomness

So, I went to another camp, but this one was a general camp, you know for people from 1 day old to 201 years old, and I bunked with my cousin and one of my very best friends, and got super hyper.  On the first night, it was only my cousin and I that were able to stay, and we wrote this amazingly wonderful thing...it's known as THE STAGES OF A SLEEPOVER...and here they are.
THE STAGES OF A SLEEP OVER
  1. Excitement--Attendees to the sleepover become extremely excited, and many squeals of delight, as well as giggles can be heard echoing throughout the area.
  2. Preparatory--Actual preparing for the sleepover begins.  Snacks and other needed supplies are bought, and packed.
  3. Show and Tell--upon arriving to sleep over, new items belonging to the attendees, as well as gifts from one attendee to the next are brought out and discussed.
  4. Boy Talk--Discussion of boys, cute and otherwise ensues.  Shockingly, much teasing goes on during this stage.
  5. Bedmaking--Beds are made, and we go into Preparatory II
  6. Preparatory II--Ordinary everyday clothing is exchanged for PJs that should NEVER be worn to WalMart.
  7. Emergency Survival/Snacks--Room is made more comfortable with the aid of T-shirts, and blood sugar is raised (so you understand, we had one room with an airconditioner that had huge gaps on either side, so we stuffed the T-Shirts in there, and my cousin is a diabetic and her blood sugar was at 46 which is bad)
  8. Storytime--Random stories from our lives are shared, and giggles are uber abundant.
  9. Heart to Heart--Nothing like mouth to mouth, but where personal stories, feelings, and dreams are shared openly.
  10. Boy Talk 2--Not unlike #4, but attendees discuss boys they have strong dislike for.
  11. Giggaloza--Generally takes place around 2 or 3 AM.  Giggles follow giggles, follow giggles, for no apparent reason whatsoever.
  12. Creativity--Giggles are still abundant, but are less noisy.  During this stage attendees are struck with inspiration, and tend to write songs, poems, stories, and draw pictures
  13. Joking--Attendees to sleepover ask each other jokingly if they will ever go to sleep.
  14. Peter Pan--We realize that delirium has hit when Peter Pan appears at our window, and reminds us not to grow up...we then realize that we are nearing stage 15.
  15. Decline--Activity is calmer, and yawning, droopy eyelids, and nodding heads are abundant.
  16. Resistance--Sleep is banished in favor of seeing how tired we can get before turning off the lights.
  17. Lights out--Lights are turned off, but whispers about *cough cough* boys *cough cough* continues.
  18. Hey!--Whispers are still there, but they no longer involve boys, but rather consist of, "Hey...are you still awake?"
  19. The Evil which is Sleep--The darkness claims us, and we no longer speak of boys, but dream of boys.
  20. Pounding--A loud knocking ensues and through blurry eyes, and sleepy ears we see and hear the adults/alarms asking if we're awake, even through we just went to sleep 5 minutes ago.
  21. Mental Hangover--We wish we had skipped the sleepover in favor of actually sleeping, but instead we sing Christmas carols loudly
  22. Scolding--All involves are scolded for their late night carousing, and loud, unladylike, immature behavior.
  23. Repeat--All stages must be repeated as often as possible until every attendee has either a hotflash or a husband.
The end!
And school starts in 8 days....  I'm also trying to get a job at Braum's so I can make money and get my own things!
Anyway, I gotta go

Dreams

Everyone has dreams.  And no, I'm not talking about the kind you have when you sleep, that sometimes turn into nightmares, although everyone has those too, I'm pretty sure.  I know I do.
But I'm serious when I say everyone has dreams.  Some people have dreams that they share with no one.  The dream is just too personal.
I don't really remember how I used to view those kind of dreams, but now I see them as they were portrayed in Tangled.  Pretty good movie actually.  I love it.
Dreams are special.  I love dreams.  Although actually...sometimes I hate dreams. Like when there's either no way they'll come true, or the dream seems so far away.
Almost all my dreams are like that.
My dreams are as followed:
  1. Be a published author--YES!  I actually am, so one realized dream.
  2. Be a popular published author--unfortunately not yet.
  3. Get married and have children.
  4. Open a shelter/camp for abused girls.
  5. Get huge room, and turn it into a giant library.
  6. Buy an old Victorian mansion.
  7. Have a big room full of costumes and stuff.
  8. A bunch of other things.
It's safe to say that I'm a dreamer.  It's also safe to say that being a dreamer is awesome yet horrible.

Bucket Lists!

So, I've been thinking...I should have a bucket list!  Better yet, two bucket lists!  One for this year, and one for my life.

I'll do the one for this year first.  It should be shorter.  And just the less personal ones too.

This Year:

  • Go on a mission trip.
  • Ride a horse.
  • Learn more psychological things.
  • Finish the sequel to The Unnamed Legend.
  • Try to remember how to clean my room.
  • Go to Youth Camp.
  • Make a few new friends.
  • Stay on the Honor Roll in school.
  • Meet a few of my internet friends in real life, with family there of course.
  • Master a song on the violin.
  • Get, and learn a new piano book.
  • Blog a little bit more.
  • Write more poems and songs.
  • Take fencing lessons.
  • Come to think of it, take riding lessons.
  • Get closer to God.
  • Get closer to friends and family.
  • Come up with more things to put on this bucket list.
  • Oh yeah.
  • Visit a new state, or town that I've never been to.
  • Okay, I think this list is done.
  • I should probably take the bullets off...
  • But this is kinda fun.
  • Okay done.
For my life!!!
  • Get married.
  • Have a baby.
  • Learn how to be a good mom.
  • Learn how to cook really good meals.
  • Figure math out.
  • Visit more than the few states that I've visited.
  • Publish 10 books.
  • Finally figure out how to sew actual clothes.
  • Figure out how to read crochet patterns
  • Play out of the lesson books in piano (yes, I know how strange that sounds.)
  • Learn how to shoot straight and accurately.
  • Get myself a bow and arrow.
  • Get myself a gun.
  • Vote my conscience in an election (or more)
  • Go shopping with my mom for the perfect wedding dress (or for cloth for my mom to make it because she's a genius.
  • Be a bride's maid in a friend's wedding.
  • Finish all my fanfiction stories, and start some more.
  • Blog more, and blog more inspirationally, as apposed to myself.
  • Quit using the phrase "as apposed" so much.
  • Find out if I'll really turn into a pickle when I keep eating pickles.
  • Go to heaven.
  • Honestly, none of these are in order, and I'm not sure what to say with it.
  • I really like talking with bullets.
  • So much for being more inspirational...
  • So, do you think I should finish up like this?
  • Meee either!
  • Did you know that that's a song?
  • A country song to be perfectly honest with you.
  • Is anyone really paying attention to what I'm saying here?
  • Because if they're not, then I'm good.
  • But if they are, I'm sure that they think that I'm crazy.
  • Oh well, at least my resolution is to be more crazy.
  • Why do we save our resolutions for New Years?
  • Gah, I'll take off bullets.
Okay now for a mini rant....
I was listening to the radio earlier...a Christian radio program...and it's horrible!!!
This guy was sitting there, and he was talking about the lust of the eye, and he said that any man who's ever done that needs to confess to his wife, and ask forgiveness...
Not to be sexist against my own sex, but that's stupid...he said nothing about if a woman does it!  Women lust too!  (yeah I'm aware how strange that sounded.)  He shouldn't just let the women off for it.
Okay, time for my next rant...
You see, this rant is about feminists...
Why do they want women to be treated equally except when women get special stuff for being a woman?  I mean seriously!  I understand wanting to vote, and wanting jobs, and to be authors and stuff, but still...don't demand to be like men.
I'm a girl, and I do not want to be like boys...I'm not a boy!
There's things that women do better than men, and things that men do better than women.
I mean, I wouldn't go to a male midwife, or doctor if I was gonna have a baby.  I would want a woman doctor.
Okay, never mind, I'm gonna get to carried away with this.
Sooo..how's your day been?

Writing Tips

Okay...so...as most of y'all know I'm an author.  So, as a result of that I've decided that I want to try to give some writing tips!  No that doesn't mean that it'll be perfect in the least, but these are a few tips that I've come up with.
  • Get a good plot!  I know it sounds hard sometimes, but you can do it!  Even just a burst of random inspiration that you have no idea what to do with can help.  I came up with a story plot from several different bursts of inspiration, as well as the fact that I needed a sequel for my book.
  • Ask your friends.  It sounds crazy, but sometimes those friends of yours can help out.  If you're writing a fantasy book, ask your friends what they think of this particular part, if they think it should be there or not, (don't always go with what they say though) and why or why not.  However, don't always listen to them, because if Tolkien (Author of Lord of the Rings for those of you who don't know) had listened to C.S. Lewis (Author of Narnia) there would be no hobbits, and we would all be sad.
  • When you're actually writing, make sure to have plenty of sentence variety.  I'm sure that your English teacher tells you to have sentence variety when you have a writing assignment.  Mine sure does.  That means that you actually need to have more than one word starting a sentence.  These sentences don't have good variety: "I walked through the house.  I walked into the kitchen.  I opened the fridge and got milk.  I poured the milk into a glass.  I drank the milk."  This is better variety:  "I walked through the house, and to the kitchen.  While in the kitchen I got some milk out of the friends.  Pouring the milk into a glass I drank it."  Not really all that great since it was just off the top of my head, but still.  Better right?
  • Make your characters have character!  This should be an obvious one.  People all have character.  Some people have good character, other people have bad character.  Make sure that it shows!  Don't have your character just be a bunch of words.  Have your character think, and feel, and do, whether they do good or bad.
  • Describe, but not too much or too little.  You have to have descriptions, but there's no need to go overboard, or underboard with descriptions.  You could under describe; "She had brown hair, and green eyes."  You could over describe; "She had very long brown hair, softer than silk, brushed delicately from her face.  All the girls envied her for her hair.  Her eyes were green, and sparkled in the sun, like emeralds, when she looked at anyone, they felt like they were under the gaze of an angel."  That kind of long description could be used fine in a romance novel, but not for just an ordinary book like such.  This would be fine; "She had long brown hair, and sparkling dark green eyes."
  • Use correct grammar and punctuation!  If you're planning on getting an editor, and getting published, then make it easy on the editor, and use your your/you'res and there/they're/theirs in the correct places.
  • NEVER GIVE UP!
There's my list!  I hope it works, and I hope it helps.

2013

Wow...the year is ending, almost as fast as it began.  For me it was just yesterday that I was sitting at Grammy's house, at the end of the year 2010!  Playing games, talking about the end of the world, and the beginning of the new year.
I think this post may end up turning into a trip down memory lane.
I will put a memory from each month.
January--the year began.
February--I got a cup from one of my best friends for Valentines day
March--I became better friends with a "brother" of mine.
April--I began being excited for Youth Camp.
May--I got my bunny.
June--I got my book completed.  Editing and all.
July--I went to Youth Camp.
August--I lost my mind.
September--I started going to my school, and quit being homeschooled.
October--Timothy became my boyfriend.
November--I turned old.  (aka, I turned 15)
December--I got to see my family, and turned my little cousin into an airplane.
I shall list 13 good things that happened this year, and 13 bad things that happened this year.
GOOD THINGS
  1. I didn't die.
  2. Timothy became my boyfriend.
  3. I went to my new school.
  4. I learned how to fishtail braid, and french braid.
  5. I completed The Unnamed Legend.
  6. I started the sequel to The Unnamed Legend.
  7. I went to Colorado.
  8. My uncle's girlfriend got the job of Math Teacher at my school.
  9. I learned that if you put anything in the microwave for a minute (other than popcorn and butter) it'll eventually warm up.
  10. I learned that I like fractions (even though sometimes they're hard to do)
  11. I've grown closer to God.
  12. My mom got a phone with almost innumerable minutes, so I can call my family whenever.
  13. Christmas came, and I got to see my family that I rarely see
BAD THINGS
  1. I almost lost my mind.
  2. I had to quit homeschooling.
  3. We had to give my kitties away.
  4. I learned what a wenis was.  (for those of you who don't know, be glad, and if you must know, google it, or ask me later.  It's not something I wish to share.
  5. I became the only girl in a class full of boys.  (it's not always bad, but sometimes I want to punch them all...they get annoying.  But they're still my friends.  Some of them.)
  6. A horse stepped on my toe.
  7. One of my kitties died :'(
  8. We had to put down our oldest dog :'(
  9. The kindle store took forever to let me publish.
  10. My own home town library is getting all automated, ruining the sweet and wonderful old fashionedish way of checking out books and movies :(
  11. The Connecticut shooting.
  12. I got held back in math, because math and I do not get along at all.
  13. I got so stressed I threw up.
There's my list...
Do you guys wanna make lists?  You could do a different number if you want.  I just like the number 13.  It's my favorite number.  But not my favorite age, at all!  Actually when I was 14 I think it was the most depressing/stressful time of my life.  13, or 14.  Probably 14.  I just hope that it won't end up being 15.
Well, I suppose I'd better just publish this post.  I've been rambling on long enough, and I have a New Year's Day party to wrap up, and a movie to finish watching, and a DVD player to kill.
Love y'all!

100 Challenge

I don't know if anyone else has come up with this but, I have a challenge for y'all.  And I'm going to do it with you!
It's a contest too, sort of, to see how many people I can get to join.
Everyone reading this is now entered in the contest, but they have the choice to do it or not.
As most everyone knows, this is November...
What happens in November?
That's right!  Thanksgiving!
Now, I want to know what Thanksgiving is...
Nope, it's not a chance to eat turkey (even though that's pretty awesome.)
No, not just a day when you watch the football game, or some parade.
It's quite simple actually.
Thanksgiving.
That's a compound word.  At least I think that that's what it's called.  When you have two words coming together to create one word.
Thanks and giving.
Swap those around, and it says, giving thanks.
So Thanksgiving is in fact, the day that we are are to be giving thanks.
Now to tell you what my challenge, The 100 Challenge is.
This challenge is that everyone will list 100 things that they are thankful for.
I'm sure you could find 100.
Here's the rules:
You cannot list the same one more than once, and you have to turn them in before the end of November.
Just send me the list, or post it on your blog, or post it on your facebook.
Spread the word!
People need to be more thankful!
Here's my list:

Pros, and Cons

Okay, so today I'm going to be talking about the pros and cons of homeschooling, and a private Christian school.
Because I've done both, I think I could come at it with a pretty good view point, without being too biased, merely stating what I've noted from my experiences.
We'll start with homeschool.
Home Schooled
Pros:
  1. When you get your work done, you're done, whether it's 1 PM, midnight, noon, or actually at 3:30.
  2. You can think outside the box better.
  3. Much less, if not no peer pressure, negative or positive
  4. You have a lot more time.
  5. You get to tell people that you're the only person in your grade, and the person with the highest scores, and the lowest scores in your class, and make them very confused while they try to figure it out.
  6. No annoying fundraisers to worry about!
Cons:
  1. People think that you're socially awkward.
  2. You don't get to have school events such as dances.
  3. Your public and private schooled friends can't hang out with you a lot, because they're so busy with school.
  4. People either expect you to be stupid, and a major slacker, or they expect you to be a rocket scientist
  5. If there's a subject that both you and your parents struggle with you can't get very good help with it.
  6. Sometimes your friends think that just because you have more time, and you spend it on the computer all you do at home instead of school is laze around on the computer.
Private Christian School
Pros:
  1. You get to hang out with your private schooled friends more.
  2. You have another chance to make more friends.
  3. You get to take classes that if you were homeschooled would be difficult to take.  ie, Shop, Journalism, Choir.
  4. If you're a formerly homeschooled author you get ideas of things to put in your stories.
  5. You can get better help if you struggle in a subject.  ie, math...
  6. You get a chance to learn things different ways.
Cons:
  1. Your time gets cut quite a bit!
  2. You have less time to spend with your family.
  3. You can get bullied.
  4. You are opened up to jokes, and sayings that you wouldn't have known before.  (Bad as well as good, so this kind of goes under the pros too)
  5. If you have to eat the school lunch then you're dead...
  6. People get more dirt to blackmail you with.
I tried to give even amounts.  There you go!

Nickle Nickle Eat-a Pickle?

Okay, so I don't know if everyone is like this, but me, I go through these phases where I watch/listen to almost nothing but a certain TV or radio show.
My new phase is......VEGGIE TALES!
Rack, Shack and Benny
^that is a episode from it.
I love Silly Songs with Larry!  Larrry is for sure my favorite!
Alright, so now that we've covered the fact that I have phases, and that Nickle Nickle Eat-a Pickle? is my title for this post, I am going to move on to my new favorite topic.
Not counting today, or the day it starts, Youth Camp is...NINETEEN DAYS AWAY!!!
I'm soooo happy!  I even have need to do, and need to pack lists already drawn out!
Here they are!!!

There we goooo.  That's my lists!
Oooh, I should make a list of Bible verses that I want to say for my verses.  What do you think?  I think yes.  But first....I'm going to decorate my notebook with my glitter paint.
Pictures of some stuff will be coming later on in the post ;)
I am so excited for Youth Camp!!!
Here's the link to the Youth Camp website, that I don't remember if I've posted or not.
Ochelata Youth Camp
I love Youth Camp.
Okay, it's later...
Me modeling my new sunglasses that I just bought yesterday.
I decorated them.  With glitter paint that I also got yesterday!
This is Sabin, but stuffed puppy.  Yes I still snuggle with him.
Sabin again.  And yes, that is my blog in the background!
That is the thingy of my eraser.
My eraser is still in the package.
GLITTER PAINT!!!  EET'S SO SHIIIIIINEEEEEYYYYYYY!
Okay, so I googled, Ochelata Youth Camp, and I found this!
I Don't Want Youth Camp To End
That guy was on my team last year!  I'm pretty sure that he was, and if he wasn't then someone with the exact same name!
And he sang last year too!
And he was either 19, or 18 then, and that was three years ago, so he was close to my age then!
Is this cool or what???  I FOUND THE SONG OF SOMEONE I KNOW FROM YOUTH CAMP ON YOUTUBE!
This is making me think about singing my song at Youth Camp.  I did post here did I not?
He Loves Me Anyway?
God'll surely have to give me strength if he wants me to do that though.  I get nervous and terrified to sing in front of people.  Singing my own song, without accompaniment, in front of hundreds of people, will be nervewracking!  I'll die!
I better start making out a will then huh?  Haha, I'm kidding, I think I could do it.  I'd just be shaking really bad throughout the whole thing.  Like...really bad.  So far I've never fainted, but I might, you never know.  I just hope I don't stop breathing...
Goodness gracious!  Why aren't I sleepy in the least?!  It's 1:32!!!  AM!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess I'm not tired because I still have work to do.  I gotta take a shower, and do devotions, and go to bed.  In that order.  But I'm also gonna be doing stuff in between that, soo, yeah.
Gah, I hate stinkin' cravings.  I'm craving Jalapeno Cheetos, Tropical Snos....a lot of food that we don't have...
OH!  I saw the cutest thing while I was mowing today!
I was mowing, and then I saw this little thing running on the side of the road.  At first I thought it was a mouse, but it didn't look quite like it, plus it was running too slow.  The chase was on.  I chased it on the road, then to the side of the yard, then further into the yard.
Then Mom comes out and says, "What are you catching?"
And I tell her, "I'm not sure, but it's not a mouse."  And then she helps me catch it!  I held it for a little bit, but then it jumped out of my hand, and ran far far away, and I wasn't able to catch it.
I'm pretty sure it was a shrew!
It looked like this:
Ain't it cuuuute?  I had to find it on the internet, but I would really have taken pictures if I could have!
EET'S SOOO CUUUUTE!
Alright, well, I'm off to finish VeggieTales, then off to bed I head.  somewhat, I gotta take a shower first.  And I might keep the computer on all night, and listen to the dramatized version of the Bible on Biblegateway.
G'moright!

Meh

Yes, I said meh.
Annnyyyyywhoooooo......
I am pretty upset, because Grammy and Grampy ran away to Kentucky to visit my aunt, uncle, two year old cousin, and their dogs....  Sure they left about a week ago...but I MISS THEM!
Ugh.  Can't my whole family just move to one town in one state?  I mean, wouldn't that be better?  Then we could all see each other.  Whenever too.
*sad sigh*
I have a few plans.  One of them is to make my bunny, my brother, and God the loves of my life.  Kind of in the other order...but, anyway yeah....  Another is to brush my teeth more.  And to stay busy all summer, and to stop thinking guys are so cute.
Gah, sometimes I wonder why God even made guys.  Other than brothers, uncles, grandpas, babies, and cousins....guys aren't that great.  At least not from my experience.
Okay, so I've known a few awesome guys not technically related to me.....but they're still painful, and break people's hearts.
I can't help it, but I'm always liking guys.  I've liked more guys than I am old.  No lie.  Here's the list.

14. This one kid that used to go to our church, idr his name.
15. Ruggy
16. Dathan
Okay, I can't think of anyone else.  Yet.  Wait and see, I'm sure I'll come up with-
17. Gulbuddin (internet guy from India)
18. Christopher Scott (fanfiction friend)
Okay, see, 18!  And even if you cut out the guys I don't remember the names of we still have 16!
Of all these let's see how many I "dated."

Here's my favorites:

 There's one of them....
I think that this is my completely and utterly favorite.  I look the best in this one.
Okay seriously??  This piece of grass is like...TALLER THAN ME!
I'm a sleeping beauty?  Or....something like that.......
Dear tree, hide me from the camera?  Sicerely, whoops, never mind, I was posing.
Monster go DAT way.  We stalk him, den slay him!!!
Oh, hey there Mr. Monster, I wasn't talking about slaying you!
Okay, that's it.  I'll continue surfing fb while waiting for my video to upload onto it.  Gah, stupid video takes forever, and ever!!!
