Camp, School, and Randomness

So, I went to another camp, but this one was a general camp, you know for people from 1 day old to 201 years old, and I bunked with my cousin and one of my very best friends, and got super hyper.  On the first night, it was only my cousin and I that were able to stay, and we wrote this amazingly wonderful thing...it's known as THE STAGES OF A SLEEPOVER...and here they are.
THE STAGES OF A SLEEP OVER
  1. Excitement--Attendees to the sleepover become extremely excited, and many squeals of delight, as well as giggles can be heard echoing throughout the area.
  2. Preparatory--Actual preparing for the sleepover begins.  Snacks and other needed supplies are bought, and packed.
  3. Show and Tell--upon arriving to sleep over, new items belonging to the attendees, as well as gifts from one attendee to the next are brought out and discussed.
  4. Boy Talk--Discussion of boys, cute and otherwise ensues.  Shockingly, much teasing goes on during this stage.
  5. Bedmaking--Beds are made, and we go into Preparatory II
  6. Preparatory II--Ordinary everyday clothing is exchanged for PJs that should NEVER be worn to WalMart.
  7. Emergency Survival/Snacks--Room is made more comfortable with the aid of T-shirts, and blood sugar is raised (so you understand, we had one room with an airconditioner that had huge gaps on either side, so we stuffed the T-Shirts in there, and my cousin is a diabetic and her blood sugar was at 46 which is bad)
  8. Storytime--Random stories from our lives are shared, and giggles are uber abundant.
  9. Heart to Heart--Nothing like mouth to mouth, but where personal stories, feelings, and dreams are shared openly.
  10. Boy Talk 2--Not unlike #4, but attendees discuss boys they have strong dislike for.
  11. Giggaloza--Generally takes place around 2 or 3 AM.  Giggles follow giggles, follow giggles, for no apparent reason whatsoever.
  12. Creativity--Giggles are still abundant, but are less noisy.  During this stage attendees are struck with inspiration, and tend to write songs, poems, stories, and draw pictures
  13. Joking--Attendees to sleepover ask each other jokingly if they will ever go to sleep.
  14. Peter Pan--We realize that delirium has hit when Peter Pan appears at our window, and reminds us not to grow up...we then realize that we are nearing stage 15.
  15. Decline--Activity is calmer, and yawning, droopy eyelids, and nodding heads are abundant.
  16. Resistance--Sleep is banished in favor of seeing how tired we can get before turning off the lights.
  17. Lights out--Lights are turned off, but whispers about *cough cough* boys *cough cough* continues.
  18. Hey!--Whispers are still there, but they no longer involve boys, but rather consist of, "Hey...are you still awake?"
  19. The Evil which is Sleep--The darkness claims us, and we no longer speak of boys, but dream of boys.
  20. Pounding--A loud knocking ensues and through blurry eyes, and sleepy ears we see and hear the adults/alarms asking if we're awake, even through we just went to sleep 5 minutes ago.
  21. Mental Hangover--We wish we had skipped the sleepover in favor of actually sleeping, but instead we sing Christmas carols loudly
  22. Scolding--All involves are scolded for their late night carousing, and loud, unladylike, immature behavior.
  23. Repeat--All stages must be repeated as often as possible until every attendee has either a hotflash or a husband.
The end!
And school starts in 8 days....  I'm also trying to get a job at Braum's so I can make money and get my own things!
Anyway, I gotta go

Dragon Pics

Due to my book, (Adventure of a Lifetime) I am in a dragon-y mood, and am therefore going to "steal" pictures from google images, and show them to you.  They're dragons....
I absolutely love this dragon.  It's beautiful.  I'm gonna see if I can get pictures of dragons that look like the ones in my book.
Aside from being an older dragon, this dragon looks about like Seven. And this dragon's eyes aren't golden.
If this dragon had golden eyes it would be Rajo perfectly.
This looks a lot like Rosko.  Even down to the green eyes!
This one is gorgeous too.
Isn't that just adorable?!
Baby dragons are adorable :)
This just looks good.
Dragon egg!
Another dragon egg.  I just love all this.
Beautiful....
Gotta have a few angry dragons!
I love that dragon eye!
RAWR!!!
Like I said, we gotta have some angry dragons too.
Well, I think I'm going to skidadle now....  Maybe next time I'll do some unicorn pictures!

ATTENTION!

ATTENTION!!!  I have had this blog for a little over two years.  It's amazing.  My last blog I think I only kept for a year...crazy huh?
I am wearing a sock as a headband, and it looks pretty great.  It's a bright, neon orange, knee high sock.  It makes a better headband than one would think!  I might even have my mom take a picture or two of it!
And I will definitely make sure to get pictures of the three pictures I have drawn for the cover art of Sword of a Princess.  I would like you guys to vote on it.  Maybe.  If you feel like it...which I hope you do...because I am woefully challenged in the area of decision making.  Well, with those kind of decisions.  And food.  But I'm pretty good at deciding who I want to be my friend and who I don't really care much about being my friend, although I will still be nice to them.  You know unless they're like a certain guy from my school and I end up having a major feud with them for the rest of the school year and stuff like that.  But normally, if I have the choice I'll just avoid the person altogether.
Okay, great new news!  The Unnamed Legend (my book) finally has T-Shirts!
Unnamed Legend T-Shirts
I need to sell 20 before 21 days is up, or the shirts will never print, but you won't get charged for a T-Shirt unless 20 are sold.
And while we're on the topic of my book....
The Unnamed Legend Paperback book on amazon
The Unnamed Legend e-book
Please, do not hesitate to buy a copy!  I know that there are grammatical errors, and they will probably never be fixed, but I promise you that the next book will not have all those errors.
See, here is where I give aspiring authors some advice: Do not spend all your time when the book is done, editing, and re-editing it yourself.  You know making different drafts.  Make your first draft, then make a second draft, then give it to someone else to edit, then go back through, and make the necessary changes, and edit it yourself several more times until you're sure all the little grammar mistakes are gone, then this is where you give it to someone who is really good at grammar, tell them, "Don't you dare change anything but commas, periods, semi-colons, and other things like that, because that's already been done, and I like my book just fine how it is." let them run ramped fixing all those errors you thought you'd gotten rid of, then you go through it one last time, make sure there are no more grammatical errors, don't change a bit of the dialogue, then publish it before you get cold feet.
In short: DON'T EDIT IT A MILLION TIMES BEFORE GIVING IT TO AN EDITOR!  The reason for that is that you will get sick and tired of it, realize you DON'T want to memorize your book, and not want to spend the necessary time fixing minor errors that wouldn't take much to be fixed, but just need to be found.
Comprende?
Okay, now as we're on the topic of books, I think I'm gonna go write in this one book that doesn't have a name yet, but I'm sure is going to be awesome.

Flower Gleam and Glow...

5 points to whoever guess what movie I'm watching!  No clue what you're gonna do with those points, but...yeah....
So, about my writing...I've finished my first edit of Adventure of a Lifetime!!!  It's about a girl who goes back to her hometown, and discovers that it's been destroyed, and the lone survivor is a psychopath who says a dragon was the one who destroyed it....  Well, he's not really a psychopath, and yes, it was really destroyed by a dragon.
I shall now tell you about the characters:
Mari: A seventeen year old girl, who is going through some stuff in her life, and feels that a visit to her home town will help clear some of the stuff up.  She has brown hair, and green eyes....as do a lot of my fictional girls....
Andrew: An also seventeen year old guy, with light brown hair, and dark brown eyes....I think...yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what he looks like.  He has a messed up past, but a bright future ahead of him.
Seven: A wonderful green dragon who was stolen as an egg, and now is in the hands of a mad professor.
Bernard Peasbody/BP: The mad professor, who has severe bi-polar....as diagnosed by my aunt.  Many thanks....
Now, I must depart.
Farewell.

What if Learning Isn't Anything Like School?

What if Learning Isn't Anything Like School?
So true.

Pictures!

I feel like sharing a bunch of pictures today...so here goes!
^That would be my facebook cover picture.  My two favorite features...my hair, and my eyes.
My sweet little kitty can fit in a cup.  Isn't that adorable?
 Prettiful tree.
 A slightly blurry rose.
I was trying to curl my hair once, and I wanted to take a picture of it before it loosened up and stopped being so bouncy.
Both sides curled, and...they loosened up....
And that is a picture of my class, drawn by my classmate Corgan, who is on the far left. <that way is left.  The big angry person would be Bro. Todd, who was our sponsor.  Corgan is a pretty good artist huh?
And thus ends the pictures of the day.

Softball and Bible?

I've joined my church's softball team (apparently in the summer, all the churches in the area put together softball teams, and play each other...it's pretty fun,) and we just had a game yesterday.  Well, actually we had two games...and guess what...out of those two games, we're undefeated!!! In losing....  Anyway, I was out in the outfield...and I was thinking...I know, thinking is very dangerous, but I seem to do it anyway....
Anyway, there I was...out in the outfield...thinking.  And it came to my mind that friends are important. And life is kind of like softball....
You're out in the outfield, and you have teammates, then someone  comes up, and hits a ball, and everyone has to scurry to get it, and throw it to base, and get that person from the opposing team OUT, so that your team can score and win and all that stuff.
Well, in life, you're out there, in the world, and you have friends, (I hope, if you don't comment on here, and I will find a way to communicate with you.  E-mail or something, because everyone needs a friend.) then there's other people who love to mess with you, and hurt your feelings, and it's like they hit a ball way out there.  BUT you have friends, and your friends hurry to get the ball of their cruelty, and get that mean person out, so that you can win in life.  Kind of...this made more sense in my mind.
But think about if you played softball by yourself against the opposing team?  You would pitch the ball, the person would hit it, and then you'd have to run and get it, but it would be so far away, and then you'd have to run back in with the ball to tag the runner, but because you were out there so long, and had no one to throw the ball to, that team would make homerun after homerun...in fact, it might end up so bad that you never ever get to go up to bat.  And if on the off chance that you do get up to bat, you're going to be so tired from all that running around after the balls they throw, you won't be able to hit it, and if you do hit it, it won't go very far.  And then you have to worry about getting yourself around all the bases, because you have no teammates to hit you to the next base, but you never even make it to the base, because you collapse, and can't make it.  Then you're out, and you have to bat again, and again, until you have three outs, and you're the pitcher again, and you're just gonna keep losing and be sooo tired when you get home, you won't even wanna take a bath and change your clothes you'll be so tired.
That's kind of like what life is like without friends.  If you get bullied or something, you don't have a friend to go to, who will help field the mean comments, you'll have to field them all yourself, and the bullies will keep scoring against you, tearing you down word by word, making you doubt your self worth, and you have no friends to tell you that it's all a lie.  And if on the off chance there's ever anything you do better than the bully, the bully's just going to find a way to make it seem like your gift or talent is worthless, and you'll get tired of trying, and you'll find yourself dying emotionally and mentally, and when you finally get away from the bullies, you're not going to have the mental and emotional energy to deal with life.  The littlest thing will send you spiraling into depression, and you'll get snappy and all that....all because you have no one to go to to be on your team for the game of life.
Playing softball and being the only person on your team is also like not having God.  Although sometimes you'll get depressed with God.
Yeah...there you go...you know...I should really make a video about all that....NO ONE ELSE MAKE A VIDEO MY IDEA!!!  GRR!!!  I CALL COPYRIGHT ON IT!!! ©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©by Katie Holm a million times.
Okay, yes, that is my idea please don't use it.  Even if you are my friend.
And if you don't have any friends, or don't know Jesus please contact me.  I'll be your friend.  I'm a very friendly person.  I can be annoying, but I'm also friendly.  I annoy Deana, because I'm too bubbly for her Melancholy personality.  See, I'm a sanguine.  And I just lost y'all didn't I?

Link #1

There's a link to something about them.  It's the best thing I found, but I was going to put more.  Hence why I call it #1.
Anyway, I just wanted to let y'all know that I am in fact alive, and stuff like that...and give you a...well, allegory I guess?

I Have Returned...continued

I must say that I completely forgot about Timmy being on my team.  He was a pretty good athlete too.
Back to the girls!
Theresa: I didn't really get to know her very well, but she seemed okay.
And you guys know all about me.
I had a total blast at camp, and I met a person from the town I moved to!  Yes, he's a guy, no, I don't have a crush on him, and no, I didn't get a boyfriend at camp.  Just sayin'.
His name is Harley, but I used to always try to call him Gideon, because last year, he showed me how he drinks when he's out hunting, and it was the same way Gideon's men that he kept drank, and stuff like that.  So I had it in my mind that his name was Gideon, but it's actually Harley.  And the way I can always remember it is to think of motorcycles.
He's a pretty cool guy.  We hung out yesterday, because he was bored, and I was bored, and I had a cold, but he was okay with me hanging out with him anyway.  And then this morning, my mom and his mom (who met yesterday and really hit it off.) went on a girls morning out, and I hung out with him and "watched" his little brothers with him.  In reality, I watched him play a video game, and took a nap.  Well a sort of nap, I never really fell asleep.
His little brothers are kinda cute and funny.  They really want a free puppy from next door, but their parents won't let them get any, so they smuggled a puppy in the house, then I tried to help them take it back, and it didn't exactly work....
And now I'm at the library watching Despicable Me 2, and blogging.
And tomorrow is my first church league softball game.  It's gonna be AWESOME.  The first game was actually last week, but I was at camp.
Anyway, I wanna go write a book now.  Goodbye.

At Last I Have Returned!

I'm finally back from my wonderful youth camp.  And I already miss it.  Well, maybe I don't miss camp but I do miss the people there.  I don't miss getting up early, or playing volleyball, or having to remember to turn the fan in my dorm room off.  I quite enjoyed my sleep in this morning.  I don't miss getting sunburns, or kitchen duty, or dorm duty, and I definitely don't miss prep/serve, because I have to wait forever to get to eat, which is super super sad.
I'm very hungry right now.  I forgot to eat before coming to the library.
I'm also watching a movie while I type on my lovely blog.
Okay, so back to camp....
I'll start with my team.  The sponsors were really nice.  I liked them.  And we actually had a theme song for our team :)  It was: The Wise Man Built his House Upon the Rock.  And, if we said these four verses, we would get four dollars...I said the four verses.
And my team was: Leevi, Brett (the same one I had on my first team,) Michael, Dan, Jeremy, I feel like I might be forgetting someone...but I don't think so...for the boys.  And the girls; Emma, Bridgette, Martha, Theresa, and me.  I shall now give you a short camp biography of each of my teammates.
Leevi: My friend's cousin, who can play guitar, and can play guitar behind his back, which is pretty cool, though I haven't seen it yet, but he's gonna get me a video of it someday.
Brett: He goes to my school--or I go to his since he was there before me--and he's pretty athletic and stuff like that.
Michael:  He's a little guy, but he's actually 14, and he's kind of sweet, but no, not that kind of sweet so you know, because I don't like him like that.
Dan:  College guy, from Penn View Bible Institute, tall, dark, and handsome would be a good way to describe him and his eyes are amazing.  Although, I will also say that he's got a girlfriend who flew to...Romania I think.  He's also a good athlete.  If we were allowed to vote on college guys for the All Stars Game, I would totally vote for him.
Jeremy: He's the most awesome guy ever.  He was homeschooled his whole life, and is from Union Bible College, and he's the lead singer, and was afraid he was going to have a bad cold which would be bad if he was the lead singer.
For the girls:
Emma: A pretty good athlete, and the niece of our sponsors.  And stuff like that.
Bridgette: She's one of my best friends at camp, and she's a good therapist, and she's really good at giving shoulder massages too.  I wanted to kidnap her and bring her with me and stuff.
Martha: She's a really sweet girl.  So sweet.  Kind of quiet, and she gives the air of a shy bookworm.  Although I like bookworms.  She gave the most amazing testimony.
...to be continued do to library closing...

Rawr

Hey, sorry I've taken so long to get another blog post up.  I've been writing, and stuff like that.
I discovered that I can watch Touched by an Angel online, so I'm pretty happy.
And futhermore, Youth Camp starts soon!  I am so excited!  And happy!  I haven't been to Youth Camp since...last year...but still!  I've missed it!
So, on Monday, off I will go and find meself some friends.
I even bought snacks just for it!  Crackers, and poptarts, and gummis, and there were some other things too....but I don't remember what.  And we also got gatorade :)
Yup, I'm happy.
Yesterday was Independence Day, and it was fun too.  The fire department had a hose, and it sprinkled,  and I ran through it, and it was so fun!  I got soaked.  It was fun.
Well, just thought I'd check in with my blogy friends.

Greetings From Pluto!

You guys will never guess where I've been the past few days!!!  I've been on a spaceship!  In outer space!  I got this coupon in the mail last Wednesday, and it said that I could get on a spaceship!  I didn't wanna tell anyone, because I wasn't sure if it was a spam or not.  It wasn't!  And I got to pick my destination for where I was gonna go! :)  Since by blood I'm a Plutarian, I decided to go to the (now) Dwarf Planet of Pluto.
So, can you guess where I am now?  That's right, Pluto!!!  (If you believe me, good, if not, just play along, a girl's got to have some fun with her imagination)
It's cold, but thankfully, I remembered to bring a coat, and lots and lots of blankets.  Considering I originated from there, I can still breath fairly well up there.  Well, about as well as I can in Colorado, but that's not very well.  A little bit better than I can in Colorado.
The worst part is the cold.  I can't seem to get back into the Plutarian habit though.
I guess you guys probably don't know what that means, but you see how it's freezing on Pluto?  Well, because of that we have to snuggle together to keep warm, which is why if you meet a Sanguine, they're probably from Pluto.  Some of them are natural earthlings, but not all.  If you don't know what a Sanguine is, go here: Link #1  Link #2
But anyway, while I was on Pluto, I found a friend with a computer.  Turns out they have a lot of video editing software.  Oh, his name is Sabin, just like my stuffed dog!  Pretty cool right?  Yeah, I thought so ^_^  He's actually kinda cute, but he doesn't like his picture taken, so no picture of Sabin :(
Well, I gotta go, it's time to eat, and boy do these people make gooooooooood food!

Farmer's Market

Hey y'all!  I was at the farmer's market, but I left, because the library will be closing at two today, so...not as  much time to work on movie stuff, and this new book I have an idea for.
But, I thought I'd pop in, say hey, and ask if anyone knows where I can get a thug.
~Katie :)
