Whew. It's over. Yay? Unyay? Honestly, I'm not sure.
So much happened over the year 2019. So much...changed. I changed. A lot, I'd say.
At the beginning of 2019, I was dating a guy named Jacob. In March, we celebrated our three year anniversary, and in April, we broke up.
September of 2018, I moved out of my parents home, and into my own. And...it's been wonderful and crazy. And honestly? Easier than I had anticipated.
There was a point in time, where I doubted I would ever be able to live on my own, just because...I wasn't sure I could handle the stress of managing bills and cleaning house, and feeding myself.
But I've also learned that the way my parents do things, doesn't have to be the way I do things. I operate differently. Maybe differently from most people, I don't know, I'm not most people. And this is my home. I don't have to decorate and run things the same as everyone else.
As such, my home has a Thankful Tree, which is a wooden Christmas tree that was here when I arrived. I write things I'm thankful for, then tape them to the tree.
I am also about to move my dresser downstairs into my laundry room. Why? Because my clothes never make it upstairs to my room. I'm also about to move myself back up to my room. Why? Because I've been sleeping in the living room since May. Why have I been doing that? *deep sigh* Because it was too hot upstairs and I didn't care to pay to cool the upstairs AND downstairs. I'm also going to move my upstairs litter box downstairs with the other one. Why? Because I do not go upstairs a lot of the time, and I struggle to keep my litter boxes clean...especially when one is so out of sight and out of mind.
One thing I've learned in 2019, is that I don't have to run my household the way everyone else does. It is okay to run things in a way that works best for me. And I plan to implement this knowledge in the year 2020.
Summer 2019 was rough. I made a lot of mistakes. I don't care to dive deep into them right now...but I will. I already know that someday, I will dive into them.
And I'm probably going to dive into them on my new blog!
"What? A new blog? Why on earth do you have so many blogs anyway?!"
Um...so...I just counted exactly how many blogs I either run, or have access to coauthor on. 15. Now, not all of them are public, and some of them, I do not run, but I do have coauthor access to. I only have six that are public access, and three that I post on semifrequently. This one, the one I occasionally (but rarely) post stories on, and my new one, which is designed as a ministry.
Here's the new blog: Love, Not Shame
But, near the end of the summer, there was also redemption. God sent me a friend, who helped me through the rough spot I was in, and led me back to God. He was a direct answer to a desperate prayer for another Alex. Alex is the son of my former pastor and his wife. Alex is the entire reason I started attending the church I currently attend. I also believe he's the reason that, 4 years ago, I didn't give up on God, because of how alone and desperate I felt.
So, God answered that prayer, and sent me a Xander. I was, again, alone, and desperate, and broken...and Xander led me back to the God of love and goodness; a God who is not a God of shame.
Since meeting Xander, my faith has been much stronger, and I truly feel that I am on the path I am supposed to be on.
I also feel a huge bit of imposter syndrome! It feels so weird for my automatic response to be one pointing back to God. It almost...feels a little fake sometimes. And that's weird. I know that I'm not being fake...but it still kind of feels that way.
Not only has 2019 been a year of growth, it's been a year of friends!
I have met, and met up with, SO MANY internet friends this year! Donny, Melody, Awesome, Xander, Heather...I'm sure others, as well.
I've made new friends! Andrea with an EA, Brooke (who just got married in December!), Josh.
I've deepened or rekindled previously existing friendships. Mathew, Norma, my Aunt Esther, my Aunt Melody.
I've seen friends move away. I'm lookin' at you, Karen. And I miss you.
I've experienced loss. A lovely older lady who was the mother of one of my friends. A relationship with someone I was previously close to. As I mentioned earlier, I experienced a break up.
I am not who I was at the beginning of 2019.
I've also realized that, well, I have a rather gothic style. I'd always kind of joked about it...but...um...yeah, it's not that much of a joke, after all. As such, January is to be the month where I purge my clothing and only keep those that suit my style, are necessary for different jobs I perform, or that have sentimental value (such as the leopard print skirt that my mom and I have that match).
I also pierced my ears! Something I've been talking about since I was maybe 12, but didn't do until July 14, 2019. It was a monumental day. I finally did it because I was extremely emotionally distraught. Not the best reason. But I was alone in Walmart and very depressed. And...honestly? I love earrings!
Going into 2020, I don't tend to make resolutions. They're...well, they aren't stupid, but...they really aren't smart. People expect to make HUGE changes, in just one day...then they are discouraged when they can't quit xyz cold turkey, when they discover they can't change their entire routine overnight.
But...I can make goals, yeah?
So. Goals.
I'm hoping to purge. My belongings mostly. I'm extremely sentimental. And I don't like to hurt people's feelings. As such, I have a collection of adorable bears...that...are adorable. I don't know where I got them. And...frankly? I don't really want them....
What I want is my music boxes, most of my horse figurines, most of my cat figurines, and my dragons.
I also have a collection of porcelain dolls. Which, I loved as a child. And some of them, I still love. But I don't love or want all of them. There's too many!
So. Some of them will be finding new homes before 2021.
Unfortunately, this purge will also need to touch my books. Yeah, I'm screaming too. They are my books! And they're books! But...let's face it...some of them I'm only keeping because they're books....
A good chunk of my childhood lives in my garage. And...it's been there since September/October 2018.... As much as it hurts to admit...I probably don't care that much about some of that stuff. Namely this random hat that I know is out there, but don't even care about wearing. My posters? Uh...I don't even remember what a lot of them look like.
Just like my clothing style has changed, so has my decorating style. And that's okay. It's okay to change. It's okay to grow.
If 2019 taught me one thing...it's that change and growth is not only okay, but it is also good. And...I guess this is more than one thing, but also...God is love. It's one thing to know it in your head, because of course the Bible says that over and over...but to realize it in your heart...it's...lovely to be able to do so.

Letter to My Cousins
Dear Norma, Justin, Jaylee, Reilly, Adam, Jade, Lyric, and Skylar,
Some of you won't need part of this letter for a long time and some of you won't need part of this letter ever. Some of you may not understand this letter until you're older, but that is okay.
First off...I love you. I'm an awkward, strange human, and I'm scared of losing you, so sometimes I push you away, and for that, I'm sorry.
Second off...please listen to this, and actually listen, because maybe if someone had told me something like this and I had listened, then I would have saved myself a ton of hurt.
Don't ever date a guy unless you have been his best friend first. And actually his best friend. If you started out the friendship kind of liking him, don't date him, because it most likely will not last. Also, never ever let a guy push you at all! In any way, shape or form. And if he does start to push you, dump his sorry butt, because he most likely will not change.
If a guy ever wants to keep your relationship secret, don't date him, because either he isn't allowed to date, or it's a tactic that abusive people use, where they isolate you from your friends. Besides, if we're being honest, sometimes it's really nice to talk to your friends about your boyfriend sometimes.
If you are ever depressed (extremely sad, angry at yourself, especially with no apparent reason), anxious (extremely worried, for no real reason), or are even really happy about a random thing...it's okay to talk to me about that. In fact, I'd love for you to talk to me about it, because then I can do my best to help you.
If you ever feel like you don't matter or that you aren't worth anything, listen to me now: YOU ARE WORTH SO MUCH! You are worth a ton to me and you are worth even more to God. If you ever feel like no one really loves you, come talk to me and I will do everything in my power to make sure you know I love you.
If anyone is ever hurting you or someone you love, come talk to me! If I can't help get you and/or them out of the place that's making them hurt, I will at least try.
If you ever need prayers, ask me.
If you ever need a hug, my arms are open.
If you ever need food, come on over. No promises that we'll have food you like, but we'll have food.
If you've just found an awesome new song (even if it's several years old) and you want to share it, send me a link!
If you ever have a secret, you can tell me and I won't spill it. The only way I would spill your secret is if it would hurt you or someone else.
Please, please, please know that I love you. I love you a ton and I want to make sure you're safe and happy.
Love,
Your cousin, Katie.

The Fatherless
In church songs I hear, and Bible verses that are quoted, it often instructs the church to care for the widows and the fatherless. Widows = women whose husbands have died. Fatherless = Children (male or female) whose fathers have died. But...sometimes I wonder...do people really care about that? Do people really understand what that means?
In Bible times, a widow had very few options. Remarry as quickly as possible, go into prostitution...die...if they hadn't borne a child by their first husband and he had an unmarried brother, they were to marry that brother and attempt to have children by that brother, in honor of her husband. But the point is, unless a widow had a son to care for her, she was kinda...um...in trouble. Hence why when Jesus is on the cross, he tells his disciple, John, that Mary is now John's mother. In other words: TAKE CARE OF MY MOTHER BECAUSE SHE'S A WIDOW AND I CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE!
Now, someone could look at these scriptures and say that because of all the opportunities there are for a widow and her fatherless children, they don't need to help out anymore. Say what?! Um...no? Does the Bible say, "Take care of the widows and fatherless, UNTIL the 20th-21st century"? Nope. And they still need cared for.
Do you have any idea how hard it is for a single parent (male or female) to care for children? Pretty stinkin' hard, just letting you know.
The role of both mother and father is placed on a widow. She must protect her daughter from dangers and potential boyfriends, teach her how to take care of her changing body, give her food, water, pay for schooling, mother her, and so much more all at once. While doing this, she also has to pay all of the bills herself. Did you catch that? Herself. AND keep up with housework. AND keep up with yard work. Sounds like a pretty heavy load.
As a girl who is half fatherless (I say half, because Doug isn't my dad, but he's not not my dad, and I know full well what it feels like to grow up in a home without a father), I can tell you, it's not easy for the mother OR the daughter. Especially when at times it seems like members of the church care less about helping, and more about telling someone how to run their life.
I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but my mom homeschooled me. She also worked as a bus driver. Do you know why? So that she could have an active part in my life, instead of shipping me off to schools and babysitters, where she would get to see me maybe an hour a day during the week!
But she also had to keep up with housework and yard work. Something many of you may not know about my mom is that she is allergic to grass. Which means mowing is hard to impossible for her to do and remain healthy. That means that it fell on me, because most of the time when she'd ask someone for help, they would say that she could do it, or that I could do it. And yeah, I could do it fine...until one day I tried to mow and I couldn't breathe. Turns out I've inherited my mom's grass issues.
My momma worked her tail off. And I don't think I helped as much as I probably could have and should have.
The thing is...these same church members who didn't seem to care (they may have, it just didn't seem that way), like us a whole lot better now that we have Doug.... So now that they aren't obligated by the Bible to care for us, they like us better. And I just don't get that.
Sometimes, all it takes to help is maybe just coming over and helping clean up, or offering to mow the lawn, or even just talking and being a listening ear can help. I know that there was a family my mom and I visited a lot, and they couldn't help much, but that was my mom's listening ear.
To those of you who are widows/fatherless YOU ARE NOT ALONE! And if you need anything, I will do my best to help. To those of you who have the abilities to help those who ARE widows and fatherless...get up off your butt and actually help them, instead of coming up with excuses as to why they can help themselves.
This rant is over.

Uga Blega Bloo
No, there is no real reason for the title of my blog post. I'm sorry I haven't been blogging, it's just that there's no internet at my house, and I am not addicted to the internet, regardless to what some people may say, so I really don't go to the library that often--for internet. I go for books at least once every two weeks, and then sometimes I'll go for internet, if I'm feeling low on Doctor Who, or need to check something on facebook, or do research for school or something.
I hate writing papers. Miss Montgomery is making everyone in Bible class write a paper about God's redemptive plan that he's had since the beginning of time. Isn't that lovely? No, not really. It has to be one and a half pages, have three main points, a introduction and conclusion, and then support for the three main points. I really stink at all this stuff. I hate it so much. With a burning passion. I loath it. Abhor it. If I could, I would torch it. Well, maybe not. I like writing papers when it's something I'm more passionate about. Which...well, I guess it depends on my mood, but right now I don't really want to write a paper on the redemptive plan God has had from the beginning.
One thing that I have to remember when I'm writing a paper is that I'm not supposed to say things like, "I," "You," "Me," and stuff like that. It's against the rules. So, you couldn't say something like, "You may find that it's hard to believe, but it is nonetheless true." You would have to say, "One may find that it's hard to believe, but it is nonetheless true." And instead of saying, "I assure you that no falsehood is passing through my pen," You'd have to say, "One may be assured that no falsehood passes through this pen." See?
Ow. Random head pain. I hope I don't have an aneurism. Maybe I should do research on those. Mr. Miller always says I'll give him one of those. I don't know what I did to him though. Absolutely nothing, that I know of.
Anyway, right now, I'm watching Doctor Who, procrastinating, having random head pain, and needing to use the restroom, because either my bladder has shrunk, or gotten filled. And knowing that I really need to get off of here, pee, and then take a shower. My hair needs washed, my teeth need brushed, and I really, really, really need to pee.
But, on the bright side, my friend who had strep throat didn't die!

What I Want....
You
know….I don’t want a boyfriend. I don’t
want a guy that I’ll cuddle with late into the night, and make out with when my
family isn’t around. I don’t want a guy
who feels obligated to get me something just because, “It’s our 6 month anniversary!” I don’t want a guy who will tickle me until I
scream and kick at him, and I end up laughing my head off. I don’t even think I want a guy who kisses me
sweetly on the cheek, or the nose, or calls me his sweetie pie.
I’ve
been putting some thought into it. And
you know…that really isn’t what I want at all.
Please, note I said nothing about hugs.
Here’s
what I want: A guy who will be my best
friend, and put up with all the crap I do.
Yes, I said the C word. Deal with
it. I want a guy who will hug me when he
sees me, and does everything he can to make sure I’m still happy and
smiling. A guy who never stops making me
laugh and smile and stuff, just because we go on these things called dates.
DUDE! I’m not even sure I want dates. Sure, hang out a
time or two…but maybe not even date.
Maybe hang out a lot actually…but not really dates. They can get awkward.
I want
a guy who will be my best friend forever, give me rides in his truck when I’m
only a block away from my destination because of how cold it is, and always
makes me laugh…even if we never date.
Maybe,
I don’t want to even date at all! MAYBE,
I want to just go from being best friends with the guy, to being engaged to the
guy. Is that so strange and
impossible? Why get into a “relationship”
at all? All those do is ruin friendships.
Normally anyway. I mean, honestly…I
was friends with all of exes before they became my boyfriends…and then we broke
up, and weren’t friends anymore. In
fact, some of them and I have strong enmity.
For those of you who may or may not know, enmity is hatred. Besides, aren’t you supposed to marry your best friend, not your boyfriend? I’ve always heard that you’re supposed to
marry your best friend. Unless of course
your best friend is a girl…. Pretty sure
that that only applies to if your best friend is a boy.
And, maybe
if we do date…maybe I want him to be willing to wait, for whatever reason, and
is perfectly willing to have a talk or two with my big, strong, buff uncles,
who were both in the army, and have guns, in addition to my big, strong, buff
grandpa, who was also in the army…and who I’m not sure if has guns or not….BUT
HE HAS KITCHEN KNIVES!!! And pepperjack
cheese ^_^ But the point is, maybe I
want him to be patient, and brave. Honestly,
as unscary as my uncles are…they’re scary.
But awesome.
And,
whether we date or not, I want him to kind of…ya know, integrate himself into
my family. Come over on random Sundays
after church, maybe pop by on Thanksgiving if he’s not too busy, play a few
games, make a few memories, teasingly make fun of my grandma’s rat-on-steroids/Chihuahua. I want a guy who will let me talk about just
about anything, and give me good advice, and well, basically be my best friend.
I think
that that would be pretty freakishly awesome.
Of course, it’s always a plus if he’s cute. And he has to be taller than me, and be able
to make me laugh, and be willing to go to church with me, and stuff like
that. Those three are musts. OH!
And I just find it absolutely adorable when guys play with their little
brothers and sisters, and are good with kids.
It’s just sooo adorable, and I have no idea why, but it is. I just love it.
But
yeah…that’s my wonderful little rant-ish thing for the night.

The Phone Goes Green Green, I Pink it up and Say Yellow
However, no one is calling me, so my phone isn't going green green, so I can't pink it up and say yellow...what a bummer.
I haven't gotten any pictures of my wooden stuffehz yet, I forgot, but I found an AWESOME song. The Fox It's absolutely amazing. And hilarious. And I love it. ChachachachachachaCHOW. It's a Norwegian song. But it's in English, so I'm sure you could understand it.
I don't like Gangam style though....it's just...strange...I also don't like Gentleman....I basically just don't like Psy...I mean...after all...have you seen his music videos? He looks like he's absolutely horny...so disgusting....
I prefer to stick with more awesome songs like the one that I just shared, or something like Fireflies, or something like The Last Night, or This is What Dreams are Made of, or The Long Word song....all those different songs. Hang on, I'll post links.
Fireflies, The Last Night, This is What Dreams are Made of, The Long Word Song
Yeah, there's a bunch of other songs I love. Dude, I love so many songs it's crazy. Songs were probably made just for me. Okay, probably not just me...but...yeah...I'm really glad that God made songs, because if he hadn't, I'd go crazy. I honestly am not too sure I would be alive if it weren't for music, and songs. I would just explode.
Do you know what I don't get? I don't get how people think that when you spend a lot of time on the computer, you're wasting time. People who make movies spend a lot of time on computers, yet people love them. There are some people who type all their stories on a computer...so they spend a lot of time on computers. There are people on suicide prevention sites who talk to suicidal people. They spend a lot of time on computers...would you say that that's a waste of time? Trying to help people not kill themselves? Teachers spend time on computers finding teaching methods, putting in grades, and finding things to do to help their students...is that a waste of time?
Just because people spend time on computers, even a lot of time doesn't mean that they're wasting time. It would be more wasteful to stay off a computer, and only eat food, and watch movies.
Now, if you can juggle a lot of time on a computer, and time off a computer, that's good. And if you're doing more than just watching stupid youtube videos, and playing a bunch of computer games, you're cool.
By the way, I don't recommend listening to any other songs by the people who sang "The Fox." Turns out that there are cuss words in their other ones....I mean, for at least one of them, it would be okay except for...ya know...language.
Back to my former topic.
I spend a lot of time on facebook...mostly because that's where I can connect with people I don't get to see often. Although, I do spend more time texting them now, because I have a phone with unlimited texting minutes.
I also don't get how people complain about teenagers texting...it's called, "you can't always actually talk to the people face to face because you live in different places." And furthermore, you can in fact read a book and text at the same time. I text while rollerblading. And while doing homework. And on my way to school. And on my way back from school. And...well, you get the point...I can multitask. See, I'm ADHD, which means I don't look like I'm focused, but really, I'm focused on a lot of things at once. Although sometimes I accidentally tune someone out when I'm trying to talk to them...it's really bad. I will say though, that I don't easily focus on more than one thing when I'm sleeping, or reading a book. Other than that I'm good.
I can't even just sit and watch a movie most of the time. I have to read a book, (it's a little hard sometimes, but I can normally get the main idea of both) or draw, or eat, or do homework, or exercise. (which I've been doing a lot nowdays.)
Oh, I also got heavier thingy-ma-bobbers....dumbellish thingy-ma-bobbers. I filled up two gatorade bottles with water, and they're heavier. More of a challenge. After we move to Doug's town, I might look around and see if there's a gym, and possibly join it, in addition to doing my main exercises. I also want to join some sort of Karate, but it costs a lot.
Oh, btw, here's a conversation between me, and my friend Gavyn.
Me: Do you think I'd be good in Karate?"
Gavyn: No.
Me: Why not?
Gavyn: Because.
Me: Because why?
Gavyn: Because I don't want to die.
So, in other words, I'd be great in Karate, but Gavyn's worried I would break the Karate code of ethics and use my Karate to beat him up. However, he's kinda right, and kinda wrong.
You see, I'd get stronger if I joined Karate, so when I punch him, I'll have more force, and I'd probably instinctively use the punches I learned in Karate, you know, after they get pounded into my brain.
However, I already use a few Karate moves. Well, only one really. The one where I grab his wrist, and twist his arm around so he stops poking me in the shoulder with his pencil.
Oh wow, this is a longer post than I meant to write...or even thought I could, because I didn't have much to discuss when I started it....well....
G'bye.

Dun, duh, duh, duh.
So, my mom is getting married, and her fiance (Doug) has a wood shop that I get to work in whenever I want basically. I get a room upstairs, a swing, and possibly (hopefully) a slide. I've already made three things in his work shop (that are completed.)
A banana (it was originally supposed to be a moon, but it messed up, so I turned it into a banana)
A smiley face.
And a cross.
I didn't get to go to my Renaissance festival, because Doug (Who was taking us) was in the hospital with a blood clot...so...no Renaissance festival :( Maybe next year.
I'm also going on a "fitness" thingy-ma-bobber. I exercise every day. Well, every night. Not day. I'm at school all day.
I do wimpy push ups (against the counter, in the girly way, which does exercise your muscles, but doesn't cause near as much pain to your chest. I do sit ups, crunches, twists, side twists, I try to touch my toes, I do some weight lifting with my tiny little 1 pound dumbells, but I plan to fill up two gatorade bottles with water, and use those. It would give me more of a challenge. I also do the "Warrior" yoga pose, and that one pose that I don't remember the name of...maybe the moon pose? And I do squats. One thing I've noticed is that the biceps on my right arm are stronger/bigger that the ones on my left arm...I don't quite know why.
If I had a punching bag, or knew how/had the stuff, to make one I would use that.
I also drink a lot of water, grapefruit juice, and I rollerblade all the time. I also plan on finding more exercises on google, and youtube, and wiki-how.
If anyone knows any good exercises, please let me know!
I don't exactly know why I'm doing this. I guess I'm wanting to get stronger, and more fit. Ya know, 'cause I got fluff, and I don't like my fluff.
My classmate Gavyn says that girls are supposed to have fluff, but I don't have a boyfriend to impress with my fluff, so there's no reason I should have fluff...and he also goes from saying that I'm not smart because I'm a woman to saying that I'm smart because I am a woman...it's very confusing....
My abs are sore from all my crunches and sit ups, however, my upper chest is getting a lot less sore, even with all my push ups. However, I really need some "weights" that weigh more. I should look up and see how much a thingy-ma-bobber of sand costs, that way I can make some heavy weights.
Whoa, a whole heard of peoplez just came into the library...and I must get on with my movie, and on with my research.
Also, if anyone knows how old David was at First Samuel 16, please let me know.
Alright, g'bye

Tomorrow!
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I start school, tomorrow, I wish it would go away! Okay, so maybe I don't want it to go away...but I'm so nervous. It's going to drive me crazy! What if I'm not prepared enough? What if I'm TOO prepared? Is it possible to be too prepared?
I have 4.5 binders and 3 pencil case thingies that go into the binders, and one that I could just carry around.... I HAVE to have one of the pencil case thingies in my math binder....but then, it would also be wise to have one in my Bible binder, because if I don't, and I forget pens or pencils, Miss. Montgomery will KILL me. Figurtively speaking...but...yeah.... Then I should also have one with my English binder....this is so not cool....and I'd need one in the one I put everything in....it was much more simple last year when I only had two binders....and idk, maybe I should scrap the .5 binder which I was going to use for computers class, and use the one I would use for everything else? And if I did that I would have 4 binders instead...I really didn't quite understand if I was supposed to have a separate binder for math either.... And I could always scrap the binder I was gonna use for English...but then what if we get a lot of story handouts? I suppose I could always take my "English binder" home, and just take the stories home too, and put them in the binder there, and I would only have three binders like I started out with....
Yes, these are the pre-school (not preschool like little kids, pre-school, as in before school) things I wonder and stress about.
And honestly, this will be the first, "first day of school," I've ever had because I was homeschooled, and I came to school late last year. Only a week late...but late anyway....
And then there's the whole the-seniors-graduated-taking-with-them-most-of-my-good-close-friends.... I mean, I seriously have only one close friend left at school...and I can't exactly talk to him about guys....I mean, well, I could...but he's a bit of a big tease. He's still one of my best friends though. And then there's the whole, "oh wow, now there's gonna be another girl in my class," thing...which I don't know if I'm thrilled about this or not...I mean...how do I know if she'll be nice? What if she's snobby? Honestly, we have ENOUGH snobby girls at my school, we don't need more. And then, what if she's not snobby, but just really mean? Oh, and someone can be popular without being snobby. I think it would be safe to describe Travis as popular...and he's not too snobby. He can be a bit mean sometimes, and a bit of a know it all, and if I was more myself at school I think Travis and I could get into some wonderful arguments. I like arguments. But I'm a bit lost at school.
You know, I go from one topic to the next so fast, I don't even know when I should make a paragraph break! It's horrible...especially sense I'm supposed to be an author....
Well, if you'll excuse me...I shall go stress elsewhere.
Farewell my loyal readers!

Rawr
Hey, sorry I've taken so long to get another blog post up. I've been writing, and stuff like that.
I discovered that I can watch Touched by an Angel online, so I'm pretty happy.
And futhermore, Youth Camp starts soon! I am so excited! And happy! I haven't been to Youth Camp since...last year...but still! I've missed it!
So, on Monday, off I will go and find meself some friends.
I even bought snacks just for it! Crackers, and poptarts, and gummis, and there were some other things too....but I don't remember what. And we also got gatorade :)
Yup, I'm happy.
Yesterday was Independence Day, and it was fun too. The fire department had a hose, and it sprinkled, and I ran through it, and it was so fun! I got soaked. It was fun.
Well, just thought I'd check in with my blogy friends.

Stress, Stress, Stress!
Okay, so really, I guess my life isn't that stressful, but life can get pretty stressful when you're in journalism. I have a page due to be done tomorrow that I'm not quite near done with.... Jostens Yearbook Avenue has become a new website to be often popped up on my browser. Uploading pictures, messing around with gadgets, moving pictures around on pages, groaning in frustration, oy!
And then there's the whole making sure I don't have ten pictures of Karen on the page, and only 2 of Seth, 1 of Darrell, and none of Brooke. And Brooke and Daryl aren't even at school all day long! Brooke and Daryl leave right after Chapel.
RATS!!! I forgot to get a picture of Daryl, that I badly need for a page.
I did however get pictures of Seth, Darrell, and Josh, that I needed badly. They may have actually been the only people I needed pictures of, as I have now realized that I actually do have a picture of Brooke. Oh wait, no I need a picture of Wesley too.
My brain is going nutzo on me. And no it has nothing to do with the Mountain Dew I have been drinking. It's the first Mountain Dew I've had in a while actually.
And then for a little bit more stress, we're having spirit day tomorrow! All fun, but also slightly stressful. We're supposed to go in pairs, so my friend, Karen and I are teaming up to be Lucy and Susan. I'm Lucy, she's Susan. It's only fair I guess, because she's the older one, and I'm the lowly Freshman girl. We had talked about being Sam and Frodo, and Merry and Pipin, and even Gollum and the Ring, but then we decided to just switch worlds and go with Lucy and Susan.
It'll be AWESOME!
And then there's the Valentine's Banquet, and I'm being very uncharacteristic of myself, and being all nervous, and distressed, and yesterday I was freaking out about my clothes and hair. Very much not like me.
I think I have it all figured out though. I'll post pictures after the banquet. I should take pictures of the banquet. For journalism.
Lovely class that class is. Stressful too.
I mean, it's fun at first, when you're sticking things here and there, and everywhere, but when you have deadlines, and people aren't cooperating, and the weather is stormy and cold when you need to take group pictures, it's just not cool. And then when you have the stress of math, and people telling other people things that aren't other peoples bussinesses, it gets somewhat stressful.
Plus, recently I keep having headaches. Mom thinks she's figured out what's wrong though. I go too long between eatings.
From 6-8PM to 12PM of the next day, and from 12PM to 6-8PM the same day. Sometimes around 4-5PM though, you know, instead of 6-8.
So, all in all, less sleep, less water, and longer breaks between food causes headaches.
You know...when I was little I thought that gameboy and playboy were the same thing. Boy was I wrong... I learned the error of my thought when I was older, and actually figured out that a gameboy was something you played on, and playboy was for pervs who...well, yeah, let's not go there.
I guess my reasoning was that a gameboy was something you played on, so it was a playboy, because you played on it. I didn't actually know what a playboy was then. That's probably a good thing.
I wish I didn't know now. However, with a computer, and internet at my fingertips, and now my perverted classmates, and friends, (imagine my shock when I was 12 and found out that my best guy friend was perverted...) if I didn't already know what a playboy was I would now.
Anyway, I gotta go to Youth Group, now that I've had a discussion about playboy, and game boy, and all that good stuff.

Lazy Saturday...Afternoon
I, like a great number of teenagers sleep in on Saturday. Hence why I didn't get up till around 11. I got 13 hours of sleep. You have the only two numbers that you need to find out how late I stayed up before I finally crashed on the floor with two blankies before my mom got me back up to actually get me in a comfortable bed.
Do you remember how I said about that funeral? Well, my mom made me go. I hate funerals...that's all there is to it. They're depressing, and sad, and a lot of people cry, and honestly I don't even want to go to my own funeral when I die! And, funerals, no matter whos funeral it is, you always feel bad because you didn't know the person who died better, even if you were really close to them. And you think about all the bad mean things you'd ever done to them. Well, if you're like me anyway. And no, I hadn't been mean to her.
13 is my lucky number. I know that that sounds crazy, because 13 is the most unlucky number ever, but it's seriously my lucky number. It's always there and showing up.
One out of three times when I look at my Facebook chat 13 people are on. It's 13 days till my friend's 18th birthday, and she just now told me about it. When I was 13 that was the teen year when I cried and was hurt the least...although it's also when I started the cycle of pain and stuff...I just like the number 13. Plus, I'm obstinate, and whenever someone says something can't be done, or that something's unlucky or something like that, I try to prove them wrong. Might come with the red hair.
You know how I view feminists? I don't like it. I don't like the feminist movement. There are some things that I agree with them on, such as, yes, men and women are equal...but...they're equal in different ways. Like, a fish and a cat are equal, but a cat can't breath underwater, and a fish can't climb a tree. Yet no one, or at least very few people would argue that they're not equal.
I think men and women are equal, but I don't think that they should be treated equal. If they're treated equal, either all men and women will be expected to stay home, take care of kids, be super sensitive and over analyze everything, be natural motherers, and extremely emotional. OR, what is more common, all women and men will be expected to be tough, go out and get a job, get into fights, hide emotions, ship kids off to people they pay to stick their own views into, and just be tough like that.
Do you see the problem yet?
Plus, doesn't everyone like going first in line to get food? Well, if you're treated equal, and you're a girl, well...sorry, this is an equal world, we just get our food as we get food, no ladies first here.
Women are getting so tough and stuff that it's scary. I for one am not feminist...Sometimes I get tired of guys, but not in the way that I'm better than them, or equal to them.
There's no way I could pick up a 100lb person, yet I have no doubt that one of my classmates who is a guy, and weighs about the same as me, could pick up a 100lb person.
BUT, there's also no way he could carry a baby for 9 months.
There are a lot more differences between men and women, and things that women can do that men can't, and things that men can do that women can't, but they fled my mind.
No, I'm not saying that women shouldn't be allowed to get jobs, or vote, but women shouldn't be pressured to do so. Even in the church women are pressured to get jobs!
With the jobs thing...I would feel awkward to have a male doctor. Especially if I was pregnant. I would rather have a female doctor, cause that's just the way I am.
And I like being able to go first at Youth Group to get food, and I like being treated slightly different from guys. I don't like being told that I'm worth less because I'm a girl, or that I have to go make people sandwiches, and that my place is the kitchen...I have classmates who say that.
I think that there should be equal opportunity, but what's the point in hating guys? There are feminists who hate men...what's up with that? You wouldn't be here if there wasn't a man...And if you have a little boy, what do you think he's gonna grow up to be?
So anyway...yeah...that's my point of the day.
~Katie :)

The Heart
This post is going to have some mushy gushy talk in it, so if you don't like it, get off this post.
The heart...wow, the heart is capable of so many things...
Loving, hating, hurting, healing, growing cold, growing hard, breaking, mending, so many things.
Right now my heart is loving and hurting at the same time. The reason it's hurting is because it's loving. Confusing eh?
The reason it's loving is because someone happened to steal it away one day, and I didn't bother to fight to get it back...mostly because I was okay with this person having my heart. Actually I'm still okay with this person having my heart.
It just hurts...because I can't talk to the person who has my heart.
Like I just said on my facebook status: "Who knew that a heart could hurt so much when it misses the one it loves." That my dear readers is what my heart is doing.
My heart doesn't hurt because it was broken. Although now that I think about it...it's been broken too.
Once I experienced so much emotional pain (not from boys alone, just from things going on in life, just piling up and up and up...) that I actually made myself quit feeling so much...like seriously...I'm not joking. I forced myself not to feel pain, or even really joy.
But as you can tell, I can feel quite a bit now. I still have times when I want to retreat into my turtle shell, and not feel sometimes...but not too much...
Feeling is both good and bad...
Right now I'm confused about whether this is good or bad.
My heart misses Timothy, and therefore it hurts...much.
My poor heart.
At least this type of heart hurt heals better. It heals every time I see him, and comes back every time we part ways.
Ahh well...that was my little lovey dovey, mushy gushy post...ignore it unless you like that kind of stuff...although if you've read down this far...I doubt that you can now ignore it.

Strength, Representation, and Update
Strength. We all have a little bit of strength in some certain areas. Some people are stronger in other areas than another, and then there's some who are weak, but stronger than they realize.
Some people are strong in the food and exercise area, and others aren't. Some are strong in the humbleness area. Some aren't.
The strong and weak are to work together.
If all the people who were strong on eating healthy, and exercising ignored the ones who were weak, but wanted to be strong, then the weak would have no one to help them be strong in that area.
If proud people didn't have their humble friends to help remind them not to be prideful, then the pride people would be proud. Even the people we don't think are proud.
Some people are strong in abilities like writing, musical talent, school talent, ect. These people also need to be doubly strong, which is sometimes hard. Strong enough not to soak in so much praise that it all goes to their heads, and makes their heads huge, and strong enough to help others with their talents.
Some people are stronger in the temptation area than others. They need to try to help those who are.
This is where accountability partners come in.
If you don't know what an accountability partner is, I will now tell you! An accountability partner is someone, normally a friend, who you can tell your struggles to, and they will try to make sure that you don't slip into the problem.
Like, if I had a drinking problem, or a drug problem, I would talk to my friend Karen. Not because she has the same problem, but because I trust her, and can tell her everything and anything. Here, I'll give you a basic scenario.
Me: Umm...Karen, I have to tell you something.
Karen: Okay, tell away!
Me: This isn't something about Timothy, like the things I normally tell you randomly are...
Karen: Is this good or bad?
Me: This could be either good, or bad, depending on your answer to the question I will ask after I tell you what I need to tell you.
Karen:...Okay, what do you need to tell me?
Me: I have problems with drinking...and drugs...even though I'm under aged.
Karen: O.O What???
Me: Um...yeah....
Karen: Okay...so what do you need to ask me?
Me: Could you by my accountability partner? You know, ask me if I've done drugs, or drank? Randomly? To make sure I'm staying clean? I really want to stop, but I can't do it by myself.
Karen: Well, that has to be the strangest thing you've ever asked me, but of course!
Me: Okay, thanks. It really means a lot to me.
Karen: Do you want to pray, and ask God to help us before you start off on Timothy again, and how awesome he is?
Me: Yes please!
Karen: Dear God, please help Katie to stop drinking and doing drugs, and help me to keep her accountable, and make sure she doesn't do them, so we don't have to send her to rehab. Thank you. In Jesus name, amen.
It's very simple.
Make sure that you trust this person, and then tell them. If you trust them, and they care as much about you as you trust them, then you'll be okay.
We use our strengths and weaknesses to help others.
But anyway...that was my soapbox for right now.
Now onto another soapbox...
My other soapbox has to do with representation.
Did you know that when you walk out of your house, you no longer represent yourself?
You represent your school, your work, your church, your parents, your siblings, your God, your friends and teachers? You represent yourself maybe about 1 or 2 percent.
Let's do a little bit of math. Which I only seem to like when I do it on my own free time...
Okay, so 24 hours...say you sleep 8 hours of your day, we'd better just get that out of the way right away. 24-8=16. Now we have sixteen hours to work with. We spend approximately 8 hours at school. 16-8=8. You then spend about two hours at work (we're gonna say, as I'm going for a teen view, and some teens work 2 hours a day if you divide it all up) so you have 6 hours left, which we're gonna say goes for family.
Okay, so we're gonna kinda ignore the 8 hours you spend sleeping for right now, and get on with the fun stuff.
33% of your representation goes for your school, as that is where you spend most of your time during the school year.
8% of your representation goes for your job.
25% of your representation goes for your family.
Then you have the 8 hours you spend sleeping, which we're going to cut in half to represent friends, and then we're gonna cut half of the other half in half. So 4 hours for friends, and then 2 hours for boyfriend/girlfriend, and 2 hours for yourself.
16% of your representation is for friends.
8% is for your bf/gf/dh/dw (dh is dear hubby, and dw is dear wife)
And 4 to 8% is for yourself.
You really don't represent yourself very much.
And I really don't do math well. And when I do it really makes no sense at all to anyone but me.
Oh yeah, and if you wanna know how I did that I divided the number of hours that you spend with the person by the number of hours in a day.
Anyway...yeah, so you don't really represent yourself.
Like, if you met someone's mother, and you hadn't met the person, and their mother made fun of everyone, and thought that anyone not like her was horrible, what would you think of the person when you met them?
You wouldn't think highly of them at first, until they proved themself to be a person you could think highly of.
It goes an opposite way too.
If you met someone's mother, and they were sweet, and kind, you would think that their child would be sweet and kind...and then when you met the person, they could be the exact opposite.
Anyway, I just wanted to throw that out.
Okay, now for an update.
I had Christmas at my grandparent's house, and shockingly, my family found a way to shut me up!
For those of you who don't know...I love making music. I like to play piano, play guitar, sing, test out my friend's instruments when they'll let me... Well, there's a few instruments I favor above others.
Such as flute, and violin. As the ones I don't have.
Well...I can't really say that I don't have a violin anymore, because my aunt (well, actually my cousin, but she's 2) gave me a violin for Christmas!
I also got three headlamps, the game Catan, an address book for me to write down all my addresses in, a pair of slippers, and some leopard footie pjs.
On my list was: Headlamp, Catan, The Time Keeper, more people to buy my book, a Violin or flute, and I will accept anything but a snake gladly.
My grandma always gets the grands pjs for Christmas...and I like footie jammies, because they're warm, and I don't have to worry about cold feet, or socks coming off as I sleep, because the socks of those jammies are attached. Plus it makes me feel like an innocent little girl again.
Anyway, the way they shut me up was I was told to sit in the middle of the floor, shut my eyes, and hold out my hands.
The bow was placed in my right hand, and the violin in my left, then I was told to open my eyes. I was silent and not breathing for about a minute...which is probably a bit of a family record for me...
Anyway...I have to go, and I know that if I don't wish y'all a Merry Christmas before midnight it's not Christmas anymore, so...
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, and a happy new year.
And remember that the reason for the season was born and died 2,000 years ago, so that we might live.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be unto all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Happy Birthday to Me, I live in a Zoo...that Doesn't Quite Ryme...But it will have to do
Okay, so I'm sure you've guessed that it was my birthday.
It was my birthday yesterday, and now I'm 15...
I honestly don't feel 15, I still feel 14.
I still felt 13 when I turned 14.
I don't even see how I can be 15, because...well, it just doesn't feel possible.
I guess that you just sort of ease into your new age. And sooner or later you start to feel the age that you supposably are.
You get more wisdom, and learn how to deal with things.
Well, some people do...there are people that I don't think have learned things like that, but they might.
Like me? I haven't learned to keep my mouth shut yet. I've learned to watch what comes out of it a little better, but I still can't keep my mouth shut.
Just today my friend, Karen and I were having a conversation about puke, and pee, and stuff like that.
I can't take seeing gross stuff trickle onto the floor, and she can't stand seeing unflushed pee in the toilet (she cleans the elementary building) and neither of us can stand seeing anyone else puke.
So I said, "You know, here's how it's going to work, we're gonna get married," and I was going to go on to say, "And have our husbands take care of the puke for both of us, the gross trickling stuff for me, and the unflushed pee and stuff for you!"
Buut...that's not how she heard it. It was kinda awkward...
See, I haven't learned how to shut my mouth.
I say things and get myself into trouble.
I also have this punching habit. But I only punch people when they annoy me, or something like that.
I had a mustache birthday party, and we played Pin the Mustache on Pierre.
I drew Pierre.
I had a pretty good turnout, and it turns out that my friends know me pretty well.
Like, I had a game where you could see how well you know me......Kayden and Karen won.
It was pretty awesome fun.
We all wore mustaches.
And then there was that Fall Dinner. Sadly...my amazingly awesome boyfriend wasn't able to make it, so I was sad.
I did have fun though.
One of the preachers was talking to us, and he said something, and Darrell (my honorary big brother) lightly pounded his hand on the table, and went, "Amen..." really quietly right after I took a drink of tea...
Well, the tea went out of my nose, and out of my mouth, and then I started to cough, and choke, and cough, and choke, which actually made me laugh harder, and then I puked up the rest of my tea.
It was actually pretty interesting.
It cracked me up, which is kind of strange.
Josh's (he's my other honorary big brother) date helped me get cleaned up, because she's got a tough stomach, and can take seeing people puke and stuff like that, and so...yeah...I found the whole ordeal hilarious.
I don't know why I find things like that funny. I mean, I guess it wouldn't be funny if it happened to someone else, but with me it cracks me up!
Like once I fell on my rollerblades, and scraped up me knee, and chin, and hand, and stuff like that, and I was cracking up like very shortly after I fell...
And that one time that I ran a needle through my finger...I was in shock for a little bit, but then I was looking at the protruding needle, and laughing about it.
It's horrible how I find that kind of thing funny. But I do!
I don't find emotional pain funny though.
I don't know if anyone else is like this, but when I get hurt physically, I normally find it hilarious, but when I get hurt emotionally...you don't wanna know how I feel.
Like, a horse stepped on my toe! And I didn't even cry! I just went, "GAH!" And bent over, but shortly after that I was fine.
My mom said that she thought I may have actually broken my toe...So I should have cried...but I didn't.
I'm tough! ^_^
Okay, well anyway, I'm just here, posting and saying hi, and stuff like that, and well, yeah, see ya!

The Trojan Leg
Alright, now I know I said that my last post was going to be my last post (probably) for a while, but I wanted to inform you all of the Trojan leg.
We've all heard of the Trojan Horse, and now comes the Trojan leg.
Mom and I were sitting there, talking about all of us spending the night at camp so that people would be able to pillage and plunder our abandoned house so much easier, and mom said that we would need to take our whole house with us. HA YOU THIEVES, YOU THOUGHT YOU WON, BUT NOT EVEN CLOSE! Sooo, we then had the issue of where to put it, and I suggested putting it on the roof of one of the dorms, and mom squashed that idea as if it were a bug. Soo, I suggested putting it in the parking lot, and she squashed that idea as well.
She told me that we needed to build a tiny little house for us, and our animals to go to camp in, and, I was looking at her leg.
So I asked her if we were building legs or houses. (proof that you should never talk to me late at night is it now?) She said houses, and I told her that we could build the Trojan leg, instead of the Trojan Horse!!!
See, we have the foot, up to the lower leg. (any higher, and that'd be just weird!) The baby toe, and the one next to it are where the bathrooms will be, the big toe, and the toe next to it are the kitchen, and then the other toe is the dinning room.
The rest of the foot is the menagerie, for the animals, and then the first floor is the living room/hall, the second floor is Mom's bedroom/hall, the third floor is MY bedroom/hall.
Sounds good doesn't it???
So yeah, if you see a random leg, that's probably the Trojan leg, that was all my idea!
I've also come up with great horse names for if I ever get a horse.
Pony of the Smattering Stream, Horse of the Rushing Water, Freckles from Yonder Glade, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, the Amazing horse of Awesomeness! Unicorn of Troubled Tears, Horse of the Backyard. Many many names.
Yes, yes yes, never get me and my mom together late at night! Oh the things we come up with!
Okay, I have a question...Why would anyone even want to take over the world? Don't they realize how hard that would be? Don't they care for human life? One ruler would be awful!
Okay, now I'm off for the night as I have five minutes before I must turn of this wonderful contraption.

Back From YG!
If you were wondering, YG stands for Youth Group, and I've actually been back for an hour or more.
Well, I had a good time at Youth Group, and got some yummy food. Little cookie thingies that taste like cake, and zucchini cake :) I like zucchini cake. It's yummy. I like zucchini bread too.
As of right now I'm letting my junk food settle, and watching Andy Grifith. He died :'( And my cousin keeps calling him Andy Griffin. Not that I have anything wrong with griffins but...well, you know.
I keep getting distracted from writing by the movie. It's on a DVD.
This is the one with Rafe Hollister is singing.
Okay topic change...
Have you ever noticed that when you first meet someone they're different than they are when you get to know them later?
Like the girl who's so shy around people, you get to know her, and realize that she never shuts up! (this would be me. I know I know, everyone thinks that she's so talkative, but I got told that I'm quiet!)
And sometimes there's this person you think is really nice, real sweet, and very trustworthy, then you find out that they're really a gossip.
And the person that you're scared of, you find out they're an awesome person, who you could trust with your life if you so did choose.
I've met both sides. And I'm the first example.
See there was this girl that I was friends with when I was eleven. I wasn't a very good judge of character, and it turns out that she wasn't a good friend. I should have realized that when she was telling me mean stuff about a girl I knew since I was two, but I didn't. Please note, I said knew, not was friends with. We were friends while I was in daycare, but not really close friends.
Then the other person was a guy who kinda scared me, and I wasn't sure how to react around him, then I got to know him, and realized he was a pretty sweet guy.
I call it the onion theory, and I'm sure that others have come up with it before.
When you first meet someone they only let you see their paper mask, because they don't know you, and don't trust you. As you get to know them better, and they get to know you, they take off their paper mask, and you see their tough skin, and the more you get to know them, and the more that they get to know you, the more they trust you, and the more layers they take off, until you're down to the soft middle. Their secrets and feelings exposed to you.
That's my theory. For some people they trust faster, for others it's a slow, slow process of trusting.
For me, it depends on the person, and the gut instinct I get from them. For some people I can trust them right away, for others I can't, and it's a slow process before they know my deepest fears, and feelings, and secrets.
Well, I'm not watching Andy Grifith anymore, now I'm watching Jungle Book. And doing a bit of discussing politics. Real discussing, not arguing. Like what my views are. I guess you'd probably call me conservative. Except for when it comes to clothes. I'm really liberal on my views of clothes. You should have more clothes on your body, so you cover up. Instead of having less clothes on your body.
I think it'd be awesome if I could talk to animals, and get replies. Like really speak Cattese, and Doggese, and Horsish.
Oh well, God didn't make us like that. Actually, he could have, because Eve wasn't surprised about the serpent speaking to her. Anyway, signing off as I have no more to blog about.
